Episode 1: Roller Coaster Murder Case
A day later in Beika City, Shinichi wakes up to the loud noise created by Professor Agasa. While Shinichi dresses Professor Agasa's wounds, the professor explains that he's testing his jet-pack, and that he'll he's going to make a fortune out of it.
Later, Kogoro Mouri, a private detective, is seen hitting Shinichi's face on the newspaper because the growing fame of the high school detective is putting him out of business. His daughter, Ran Mouri, tells him to knock it off.
As Shinichi's walking to school, he sees the people around him praising his deeds and starts laughing. Ran comes out and smacks him for laughing idiotically, and proceeds to tell him that she's not in a good mood because her father's going out of business. Shinichi then talks about how stupid her father is, and with that, Ran laughs sarcastically and punches a nearby pole to "prove" that she's not angry.
An school, a soccer ball lands near Shinichi, and he kicks the ball into the goal. Ran then talks about how good at soccer he is and if he was still on the team, he would have become an international hero. Shinichi then explains that he plays soccer to stay sharp, just like how Sherlock Holmes, his idol, fences. He then continues to ramble on about Holmes. Ran says that he's a detective freak, and Shinichi counters by showing her all the fan mails he's getting. Ran then points out that even with all the letters, he cannot stay true to one person, and Shinichi stared back at her. As the bell rings and Shinichi hurrying to class, Ran asks if he remember his promise, to which Shinichi has no clue of. Ran then reminds him that if she won the karate championship, he would take Ran to Tropical Land, and proceeds to kick him, simultaneously. Shinichi dodges all of her kicks but somehow ended up under her skirt. Then Ran smacks Shinichi away onto the ground and calls him a pervert, and Shinichi finally remembers his promise. Later at night, at an unknown location, a girl is seen crying with a broken necklace.
The next day in Tropical Land, Ayumi, Genta and Mitsuhiko are seen coming out of a ride. Genta and Mitsuhiko complain that they can't take it anymore, and Ayumi insists that they go on one more ride, the Mystery Coaster. With not enough money, they decide to sneak in for a free ride. During the wait for the ride, Shinichi begins to talk about how when Holmes met Watson, Holmes was able to deduce that Watson was a military surgeon by simply shaking his hand. Shinichi then proves that by taking a stranger's hand and asks if she's a well-trained gymnast, to which she surprisingly inquires how he knows and the nearby friend asks if he knows Hitomi. Shinichi explains that she has a lot of blisters on her hand, and that blisters are formed when you grip heavy metal bars. Shinichi then tells Ran privately that he saw the girl's bruise from parallel bars when the wind blew her skirt up. An angry friend then yells at Shinichi for taking his spot in the line. Shinichi then apologizes and offers to give his spots to him, but Hitomi and her friend say that they best not bother Aiko and Kishida, who are couples and friends of Hitomi. After that Shinichi sees Aiko and Kishida making out, he thinks about his feelings for Ran, but this was interrupted when she tells him it's their turn to get onto the rollercoaster. Shinichi once again begins talking about Sherlock Holmes, and the exasperated Ran yells that she's had enough of Holmes and wanted a day out of Shinichi and why he cannot understand her feelings. The nervous Shinichi then starts to explain and Ran interrupts him by saying how she's only pretending. But Ran then tells Shinichi that she's really looking forward to the day and holds his hand as the rollercoaster's about to go down. The coaster goes into a tunnel and Shinichi feels a drop of water on his face. As the coaster comes out of the tunnel, everyone sees that Kishida has been decapitated. The police then arrives at the scene and the investigation begins.
When the police arrives, Inspector Megure were researching the cause of death by the body. Shinichi then suddenly appears for help, wich that Megure were screaming Shinichi's name, wich makes the two mysterious mens in black nervous. Shinichi then investigate the case, while then later that they were been seeing a knife with blood in the purse of Aiko, she don't know hos the knife were in there, Shinichi were then saying that it is not able to cut someones head off with a knife and mostly when it is a woman. Shinichi makes his eduction verry clear when he ask to Megure for help and show them the truth how the murder were been placed, while then that Shinichi were giving Hitomi the blame that she's the culprit, while that she where saying that she's not, Shinichi were then asking were her necless were, then evenly Shinichi wree stated that her tears where moving up the other side, wich that she confess that she's the killer. Outside the Rollercoaster Ran were been crying, wich that Shinichi were saying why she's doing that, then evenly later Shinichi sees one of the two mysterious men in black running to a dark place around Tropical Land. Shinichi sees there that one of the mysterious men in black were been blackmail a president of an company, wich that evenly later he were running off with the move but the men in black hase the money of the president. While then later one of the other member were been sneaking Shinichi behind and attacks him. While that the other gives the blacme to the other that he must gonna be carefull when he does toes things. Wile that the original plan is to shoot Shinichi one of them came with a strange poison put it into Shinichi's mouth and they were running away with the idea that's he's going to die. Shinichi then feels something weirds in his body, wich that he later is been founded by the police but then as a young child.
