Scenario: Kogoro, Ran, and Conan are invited by Kogoro's friend, Raita Banba, to attend his pre-wedding party. Banba's bride, Hatsune Kamon, leaves to have her nails done. Shortly on her return, she receives a phone call at the parking lot that shocks her. She calls Banba, bidding him farewell, and her car is engulfed by fire. The police arrive and their DNA test reveals a rough match of Banba's DNA was found on Kamon's nails insinuates him as the murderer. Banba proclaims innocence and reveals the culprit is most likely Tooru Amuro, their waiter who has secretly met with Kamon. Tooru explains he was hired by Kamon to investigate Banba and see if he was having an affair; To attest to his alibi, Amuro reveals Banba also hired a detective to follow Kamon for the same reasons. The detective confirms Amuro's identity and leaves Banba as the main suspect. Conan investigates, finds out that Kamon was making secret phone calls, and learns from Amuro that she was disturbed to discover Banba and her were orphaned by the same hotel fire.

Episode 666: The Intimidator In a Rainy Night

Scenario: Officer Chiba is asked to help a woman who feels she is being stalked, but after the supposed stalker is found dead in her home. It is suspected she murdered him, and Conan have to uncover the truth behind the crime scene.

On a rainy night at the Mouri Detective Agency, Detective Chiba arrives and begs Kogoro for help. He wants Kogoro to help him to find a woman that he believes is in danger.

Chiba swiftly explains that recently, he's been seeing a woman at the Ikitsuke Café. The woman named Mio Ashida said she felt like something dangerous will occur. She gave him threatening letters she had received from someone who had recently been released from prison. When questioned, it was revealed that they had been coming for nearly a year and that she had changed jobs and moved because she was afraid of them stalking her. However, recently, she felt she was being watched, thus prompting her to tell Chiba. He had said that if she saw the person, or anyone suspicious, she must tell him immediately. However, when Chiba went to the restroom, Mio left. Concerned, Chiba questioned the owner who said the customer left, and seemed upset or afraid. As Chiba went to follow her, he grabbed an umbrella and realized that he had hers, meaning that in her rush, she had grabbed his.

When Chiba was about to cross the street, a red car came and Chiba quickly got out of the way. He saw a suspicious person wearing a hat and sunglasses in the driver's seat. Chiba felt that it wasn't careless driving, but rather an attempt on his life, and that the driver mistook him for the woman due to having her umbrella. Since Chiba did not get her address before she left, he was not able to find her right away, and due to no evidence, he was unable to do it through the police headquarters, which is why Chiba came to Mouri Detective Agency for help. Since she came to the cafe often, Conan proposed the idea of searching nearby areas, as she likely lived near by.

So now, Conan, Ran, Kogoro, and Detective Chiba went all around the places to search for Mio. Meanwhile at an apartment, a student named Takuya Murakami is getting annoyed by someone else on the second floor due to them playing the TV at a high volume. Suddenly, Murakami heard a loud thump from above and a scream from a woman.

Detective Chiba receives a call while searching for Mio. The call was that a young woman was involved in a murder case at a nearby apartment. When Chiba, Kogoro, Ran, and Conan went to the apartment, they found a red car which was the one that almost ran over Chiba. They went inside and went to the second floor of the apartment. Inspector Megure and Detective Takagi are also there. It seems they found the dead body.

In the room, a man was on the floor, dead from blunt force trauma to the head. Beside him was the hat and sunglasses Chiba saw on the driver that nearly ran him over, and on the other side of the room, was the woman, Mio. At first relieved to find her alive, Takagi said that she's the perpetrator, much to Chiba's horror. Both groups share their story, with Takagi finally explaining what happened.

The incident occurred forty minutes ago, at 9:30 PM. Murakami that lives below said that he heard the commotion, so he came to check. He discovered the dead body and Mio, who was next to the corpse. Murakami then called the police. The victim was a man named Yoshizumi Karashima and was released from prison three days ago, after being kept there for a year due to a traffic accident. During the incident, there was a drunk driver that broke the guard rail and fell into the lake. Of the two, the driver died, while the other only received light injuries, but were sentenced one year of prison for allowing a drunk to drive. The driver had been Mio's brother, and the deceased, Karashima, was the other one in the car.

Mio thinks it's a lie that her brother was driving due to a past incident her brother had with drunk driving that made him swear to not ever go behind the wheel again. She believes that the person that was really driving was Karashima. The driver that died was indeed her older brother, Toshiaki Ashida. Karashima said that her brother was the one driving, but she could not believe his story. She filed serveral objections to the court, but all of them were rejected. Chiba has no doubt that it must be revenge, so he showed the letters written by Karashima when he was in prison. All of the letters said that he would meet Mio after being released from prison.

Mio moved to the apartment where she won't be stalked by Karashima. In fact, the move was so recent that all the stuff in the her apartment hasn't even been used yet. She even stated that she only came to sleep due to how scared she was. When she came home, the lights were on, and the door was unlocked. She didn't think anybody would be inside. When she opened the door, Karashima suddenly grabbed her and went about to stab her, with Mio resisting, using her umbrella as a means of defense. They moved to the living room while struggling and Mio pushed him to the wall where the vase hit on his head. Conan sees the injury on the back of Karashima's head, but also noticeed that there's another injury above his nose. Chiba thinks he must've got hurt while struggling as there was blood on the corner of the TV desk.

It seemed like a clear case of self-defense, but Conan was starting to find holes in the story he heard. He had found the umbrella container that still has a little puddle of water in it, Karashima's shoes were wet as well. After confirming that the rain started at seven that evening, Conan went downstairs of the apartment to visit Murakami for questioning. The witness informed Conan that he heard the tv around six, and that it turned off at about nine thirty, before being swiftly followed by the thud and screams. Afterwards, Conan went outside to check the red car and he figured out the truth behind the case.

Episode 665: Suspicion of Initial K

Scenario: Anblick Tateno and Kogoro found a dead body in the house and a devious old man was murdered in cold blood, leaving only the letter "k" as a message. And there were two suspect who might be true culprit of the murder in cold blood, and both of them had a "K" letter in each name.

The security guard named Zenkichi Ooka is threatening two people to keep giving money to him. At night, Conan, Ran, and Kogoro came from the store after they had delicious spring rolls. They found the policeman named Sumio Tateno who's talking to the woman. Tateno works at the Beika 5th district police box. He is diligent, nice, and good with people. Even the neighbors strongly trust him. Soon, he will be transferred to the criminal division. The woman named Toshiko Hanazawa is trying to tell Tateno and Kogoro about that she saw somebody who is always going through the garbage. Suddenly, the woman with the shock expression came out of the house with the little amount of blood on her. She said she found someone's dead inside. Conan, Kogoro, and Tateno went inside and found Zenkichi Ooka dead.

There's a bloody knife on the floor and the cut marks on Ooka's hands. There's also blood on the cushion with the hole in it. The culprit must've used the cushion and stabbed through it. One more is that Ooka left a dying message, "K". The fake tooth in Ooka's mouth is missing. Ooka's cellphone is broken.

Inspector Megure and Detective Takagi had arrived and Officer Tateno reports everything to them. Inspector Megure asks the woman who found the dead body about what her name is and the woman reveals her name, Kiwako Kaitani. It seems that her initial is K. Hanazawa said she saw the whole thing. She was talking to her friend in front of her house. She believes it was at past 6, Ooka came home. Then soon after, a man visited to Ooka's house. Hanazawa thinks it's a 50 year old salaryman. He left gloomily after about ten minutes. After twenty minutes, Kaitani came. Hanazawa's friend left and Officer Tateno came. Hanazawa and Tateno were talking for about five minutes and until sudden, that's when Conan, Ran, and Kogoro came. Finally, Kaitani came out of Ooka's house. That's the whole story from Hanazawa. Kaitani thinks the man is the one who's responsible for Ooka's death. Inspector Megure and the police are going to look for the man who's involved with Ooka. Suddenly, Hanazawa found the man that's in the middle of the crowd. The man ran from the crowd until Kogoro and Tateno went after him. They caught the man. Inspector Megure asks the man's name and the man reveals his name, Katsutoshi Kusaka. It seems that his initial is K also.

At the police station, Takagi is questioning Kusaka about the knife belonging to him. Kusaka confirms it, but he said he didn't kill Ooka. The reason why he visits to Ooka's house is because he's being blackmailed. It happened seven years ago: Kusaka got addicted to gambling in mahjong. The police started arresting the customers including Kusaka. Ooka was one of the customers also, but luckily got away. After that, Kusaka turned into a new leaf. He began to work diligently. Two years ago, Kusaka met Ooka at the new supermarket ever since he demanded money. That's when the blackmailing starts. Kusaka's daughter got engaged in six months ago. Ever since then, the demand escalated. A few days ago, when Kusaka is having a dinner with the other family at Shiomi Hotel, Ooka appeared. Ooka said he had police work nearby. At that rate, he was going to ruin the marriage. When Kusaka thinks about it, he couldn't take it anymore. Takagi asked Kusaka about today's visit to hand him over money. Kusaka answered that it's usually when he get his paycheck, but Ooka said he was going to a funeral, so he suddenly demanded money for traveling fees. He brought a knife in replace of money. However, when Ooka and Kusaka were struggling, Kusaka cut his hands. When Kusaka saw the blood splatter, he got frightened. He threw the knife away and ran away. That's everything from Kusaka and he thinks Kaitani is the one who killed Ooka when she came to visit Ooka after him.

Next, Sato is questioning Kaitani about the harmful drugs that weakens the human body which was found in Kaitani's bag. Sato asked Kaitani that she's a pharmacist and steals ingredients from where she works. Kaitani angrily accuses Ooka that it was his fault. Kaitani is graduating this year but couldn't find a career. She became childish and began to shoplift. Ooka caught her and will keep quiet if Kaitani hands over the money. Ever since then, every month, after getting employed, Ooka demanded Kaitani to pay double. He would go where Kaitani works to get drugs. When she thinks about her whole life being blackmailed, she couldn't take it anymore. That's why she wished Ooka would get a serious disease. Sato asked Kaitani about today's visit to hand Ooka over money. Kaitani answered it's usually at the beginning of the month, but Ooka said his friend died so he suddenly demanded Kaitani to pay for the hotel fees. All she did was to break Ooka's cellphone. It had proof that she was shoplifting. She still thinks Kusaka is the one who killed Ooka when he came to visit him before her.

Inspector Megure can't believe the victim was blackmailing Kaitani and Kusaka. According to Kusaka, Ooka was into overseas casino. The blackmailing was to save money and use money for casino spending. Conan asked about the calendar from Ooka's house. Conan sees things written on the calendar and it's some sort of a code. Kogoro tells Tateno that his police cap is dirty. Tateno took his cap off, cleaned it off, and put it back on. Megure asked Tateno that they weren't any suspicious person inside and all the doors and windows were locked from the inside. Tateno confirms it and in other words, only Kaitani and Kusaka were the only ones able to enter and leave. The culprit could be one of those two.

Conan thinks it still doesn't make any sense. Conan asks about the missing fake tooth and Takagi confirms it was still not found at the crime scene. If it came out during the struggle with the culprit, it might be on the culprit. It was not found on Kaitani and Kusaka also. Takagi thinks Kusaka could have thrown away since he was the only one who left the crime scene. Megure orders Takagi and Sato to watch over Kaitani and Kusaka. He also orders Chiba to investigate Ooka's notebook. The notebook might have more blackmailed victims. Conan notices the word, "Maruoka" on the notebook. When Conan checks the calendar, he knows what it means. He still wonders what "K" means. Until sudden, Conan found some ants on the ground and finally solved the whole mystery.

Scenario: The Detective Boys find a strange map on the back of a piece of paper, with many 'x's at different locations. As the group visits each house, they are able to figure about the meaning behind the 'x's, as well as the identity of the murderer. At night, Hiroshi Yagisawa and his dog Coeur, are taking a walk in Beika Street. Coeur sense something strange so Coeur is showing Yagisawa that she found the dead body in underground passageway.

On Saturday, Conan, Haibara, and the Detective Boys are having a good time walking along together. Genta is eating grape-flavored candy. Mitsuhiko found the paper in the middle of the street. It's a paper from the Sakae cleaning shop. When Mitsuhiko unfolds the paper, he found a map. Genta thinks it's a treasure map but it's not. Mitsuhiko thinks it's a map of targets for burglary because he remembers that it's been recently been occurring around Beika district. Conan thinks it's ridiculous but Ayumi and Genta think so too. So the Detective Boys are going to follow the map with every X mark locations around the people's houses.

The Detective Boys went to the Ohga household and asked the Ohga family about burglary in their home but they felt relief when the Ohga family confirm there's no burglary. Norifumi Ohga is curious if the paper is really the map of targets for burglary and Mitsuhiko thinks the probability is high. Mitsuhiko asked Norifumi is there anything suspicious going on or any strange incidents. Norifumi said no that he didn't see anything suspicious. Conan asked Norifumi does he know any other people's homes and Norifumi doesn't know also. Norifumi's wife, Misako took the map from Norifumi's possession and looked. She thinks it's creepy that why is their house in the map. Until sudden, she scolds at Genta not to step on the grass. Norifumi is about to smoke a cigarette but Misako tells Norifumi not to smoke in front of their child, Tomoya. Conan asks Norifumi what's his job and Norifumi reveals he's an architect.

Next, the Detective Boys went to visit to the woman named Tamae Eguchi who's smoking a cigarette. Mitsuhiko asks her that if she has any idea about other's homes by showing her the map. Eguchi doesn't know and there's no burglary in her house either. Also she didn't see anything suspicious. Conan asks what's her job and Eguchi reveals that she's an illustrator.

The Detective Boys visit to the old lady named Shizuko Fujiki and Mitsuhiko asked the same question like from other people's houses. Same answer from Shizuko and no burglary in her house. Suddenly, Shizuko's son named Koichi Fujiki appears. He got the cigarette box from the shopping bag and puts it in his back pocket. Koichi asked Shizuko what's wrong and Shizuko tells Koichi that the kids found the map of targeting for burglary and shows it to him. The Detective Boys asked him about anything suspicious going on and Koichi doesn't know also. Conan asks what's his job and Koichi reveals he's a salaryman.

The Detective Boys went to the Kohzuki household according to the map but found the police car right in front of it. They think that someone has already burglarize the Kohzuki household. Conan asked the man that did something happen at the Kohzuki household and the man reveals that Kohzuki died. Around last night at around 10, he was found near Beika Street, at the bottom of the stairs leading to the underground passageway. He was bleeding from his head and lying on the floor. Conan wonders if it's an accident or murder. Conan sees at the front of Kohzuki household that there's water bottles. Suddenly, the police came out of the Kohzuki household and tells the woman to report anything when she notice anything. The woman's name is Sawako. She is Kohzuki's daughter. Mitsuhiko thought about something that if the map isn't just burglary but a case involved with Kohzuki. Ayumi asked Mitsuhiko about what does he mean by that. Mitsuhiko thinks that the one who wrote the map is the culprit and still pursuing the other's homes. The Detective Boys are about to report it to the police about the map but the police are very busy so they just went in the police car and drives away to the crime scene. Conan is about to check the crime scene so he told Haibara and the Detective Boys to wait for him at the library.

When Conan arrives at Beika Street, he heard that the crime scene investigator told the police that Kohzuki's right hand smells like tobacco, but there was no tobacco around him when he's lying on the floor. The police were told by Sawako that he didn't smoke.

At outside of the library, the Detective Boys are waiting for Conan. After that, they're about to get some ice cream from the vending machine in the library but Haibara will just stay outside waiting for Conan. When Yagisawa and Coeur appear, Haibara is smiling at Coeur and felt like she wants to see Coeur closer. Suddenly, the culprit steals the map from the table while Haibara isn't looking.

Conan arrives at the library but suddenly the Detective Boys are looking for the missing map after they were inside the library buying ice cream. Conan met Yagisawa and his dog Coeur again. Conan pets Coeur's head by saying, "Coeur, have you been doing well?" Haibara asked Conan that does he know Coeur and Yagisawa. Conan knows them alright because thanks to Coeur who helped Conan solved the murder case last time. Mitsuhiko tells Conan that he can't find the missing map. Yagisawa reveals he's the one who made the map with the X marks on it. The map is actually Coeur's walking course that Yagisawa's friend uses when Yagisawa can't walk Coeur. The X marks on houses is to watch out for. She dropped it while walking the dog. The first house was Ohga's house when Misako gets angry so easily. Yagisawa and Coeur got yelled by Misako when Coeur touched the grass. The second house where Eguchi lives, Eguchi sprays pesticide on her roses, so Yagisawa thought it would be best to stay away. Eguchi uses fertilzer so dogs like to get close because they like that smell. Then the third house where Shizuko Fujiki lives is that she likes to keep things neat and clean. She dislikes dog urine. Conan noticed that she sprayed water in front of houses and poles while the Detective Boys are questioning Shizuko. Also for Kohzuki's place, Kohzuki dislikes dog urine too. He was frequently cleaning the front of his house. One time, when Coeur urinate in front of Kohzuki's house. Kohzuki ran after Coeur and Yagisawa with the broom. That's why they are lot of water bottles in front of his house but it's actually cat repellent. It seems Mitsuhiko's theory was wrong all along. About the worthless map, somebody with some purpose stole it. That person that stole the map must be the murderer of Kohzuki. The map that Mitsuhiko found that was mistakenly thought was related to Kohzuki's murder was stolen because the culprit thought it would be bad if the police gets it. Among the homes that Conan, Haibara, and the Detective Boys visited are one of them is the culprit. The key to solving the mystery is tobacco. The one who smoked tobacco are Norifumi Ohga, Tamae Eguchi, and Kohichi Fujiki. Yagisawa mentions about Kohzuki that found the cigarette that has two blue lines on it. After the conversation, Conan and the group are going to gather information around the houses. Conan asked Yagisawa to draw another map and Yagisawa understands.

After the group investigates, they couldn't find the cigarette that was been thrown away. While they are looking to the map, Ohga's architect office is in front of the Beika Station so always walk home. He leaves home at around 7-8 and comes home at varied time so it seems like yesterday was at around 10. Eguchi works four times a week. From evening, she has a part time job at the club. Fujiki also goes home by going to Beika Station. He leaves his house at 7 every morning. All three of them has the possibility of throwing away a cigarette butt in front of Kohzuki's house. When Conan asked the underground passageway guard, as he suspected, it's the same brand of cigarette that's lying on the floor which is the "blue line". Last night around 10, one of those three went through the underground passageway, throw away the cigarette butt on the floor, then Kohzuki witnessed it and a quarrel occurred. That's why they weren't any cigarette butts on the floor. Suddenly, Conan just thought of something about the water pathway. Conan and the group are going there.

Episode 663: The Mountain Beetle Chase

Scenario: The Detective Boys wish to capture a few beetles to bring to school, and as a result, visit Agasa's old friend in the mountains. The Detective Boys manage to find a bunch of beetles at night, but return to find Namatame injured. Namatame's last words are "Miyama Stag Beetle" before losing consciousness.

At Teitan Elementary School, Genta and Mitsuhiko see a student showing off because he owns a beetle and become jealous. At Agasa's house, Genta and Mitsuhiko tell Agasa about getting the rhinoceros beetle and Agasa knows a place to get those. Agasa's old friend lives in Kofu, Yamanashi Prefecture, so Conan, Haibara, Agasa, and the Detective Boys go on a trip. When they arrive, they meet Agasa's old friend named Ryutarou Namatame. Later, Genta is thirsty so they all go to the shop called "Michi no eki" where they sell food and drinks. Namatame find a guy named Kei Yabe who's eating ramen while getting little upset about Yabe telling Namatame a lie that he's at playing pachinko. Yabe tells Namatame that it's not what it looks like.

Genta and Mitsuhiko find the bug cages filled with all kinds of beetles and they are impressed about it until suddenly, the man named Shuhei Ikeda tell Genta and Mitsuhiko not to touch it. He tells them that the Tocoro Department is coming to retrieve them. Namatame tells Ikeda that the kids want to look at them and Ikeda doesn't have to make a big fuss about it. After that, Namatame tells the Detective Boys when Ikeda was a child, he was very stingy. At Namatame's house, the Detective Boys are having watermelon for snack. They have made a plan to go into the forest and catch some beetles. In the forest, Conan puts slices of stinky bananas mixed with sake into the small bags each Detective Boy carries and ties the bags to the branches of the tree so later the beetles will be attracted to it at night. When Conan, Haibara, and the Detective Boys find the truck, Genta looks inside and Yabe just appears from under the truck. Yabe angrily asks Genta what he's looking at. Genta didn't do anything wrong so Yabe tells the kids to go away.

That night at Namatame's house, Namatame and Agasa are having a little conversation about Agasa's inventions. At precisely 10:00 pm, the Detective Boys are going back to the forest where they made baits to attract the beetles. Namatame warns the kids that there could be snakes in the forest so Agasa will go with them. In the forest, they are lot of beetles on the bags attached to the tree branches, and the Detective Boys are very happy catching them. Going back to the house, they spot Ikeda walking on the streets moaning about Namatame. When Conan, Haibara, Agasa, and the Detective Boys arrive at Namatame's house, they find Namatame lying on the floor, injured.

Conan tells Namatame to get a hold of himself and suddenly, Namatame says, "Miyama stag beetle" before losing consciousness. When Haibara is about to call an ambulance with her cellphone, she notices that the Buddha statue Ryutarou had is gone.

Haibara doesn't have a signal range on her cellphone so she goes outside to look for one. Conan finds a little amount of hair on Namatame's back and wonders what did Namatame mean by "Miyama stag beetle". Namatame is taken to the hospital while unconscious. The police arrive, and the investigation begins. Conan and the Detective Boys report everything they've seen, and also the Buddha statue that goes missing. The police mention about the missing Buddha statue case that has occurred at Kenkan Temple. Conan gives a little amount of hair he found on Namatame to the police so they can give it to the forensics to exam it. Agasa is still wondering what did Namatame mean "Miyama stag beetle", because, of course, the culprit can't be the beetle. Haibara mentions that she and the Detective Boys saw Ikeda while walking in the forest. Genta now knows that he has seen the beetles at Michi no eki.

The police finds Ikeda and they want him for questioning. The police ask Ikeda where he was at 12:00 am. Mitsuhiko says that he was walking on the streets angrily saying, "That Ryutarou! I can't let my guard down!" The reason why Ikeda was saying that is because when he went watering the rice garden, the water was turned off. The only one who did that was Namatame. That's why he wanted to teach him a lesson when he would see him again. He says that he would haver never tried to kill Namatame. Conan asks Ikeda about the Buddha statue. Ikeda remembers there was a dirty one and he has a clue. He mentions about Kei Yabe who had lots of tools in his truck when being very sneaky. That made Ikeda suspicious. Genta remembers Yabe is wearing a Miyama stag beetle shirt.

The police visit Yabe because they want him for questioning. They ask Yabe where he was at 12:00 am. Yabe says he was at home, alone. Ikeda calls Yabe a liar because when Ikeda was watering the rice field and when he was on his way to his home, he visited Yabe's house and his truck wasn't there. The police asks Yabe if he did enter Namatame's house, hurt him, and steal the Buddha statue. Yabe denies it. Conan asks Officer Iwanaga about what the little amount of hair was and Officer Iwanaga says it was a dog's hair.

Conan, Haibara, and Agasa went back to Michi no eki to find some clues. Conan asked anybody if they remember Conan and the group visiting to Michi no eki. Nobody can't remembered except one person who sells plants. The plant owner remembered they were some couples buying the potted flower. The plant owner showed the potted flower to Conan and he finally solved the whole mystery.

Scenario: Conan completes his investigation and realizes who the murderer is. The suspects, realizing Ryohei is a fake, challenges him to declare who the culprit is. Conan relays his deductions to Ryohei explaining a system of fans and TV remotes created a fake time of death; This was done setting one of the fans and remote to channel surf while the other fan and remote is set on a timer to turn off the TV. They reveal the remotes were most likely held in place by a rubber band which Hyodo Junjei has on him. As evidence, the blood smear from the victim was found on the rubber bands. Junjei confesses and reveals the victim blackmailed him after finding out he was a drug dealer. Conan and Ran confront Ryohei about his identity and learns Kiritani was his elementary school teacher who influenced him. Days later, Kiritani sends a post card to Kogoro thanking him for sending his disciple Ryohei, to look after her.

Three people are being impatient right now because they're waiting for the police to let them go free until they solve the case. The landlady tells the apartment residents to stop complaining. She also grabs Onda and tells the police that the great detective is right here, so she tells them to ask him an opinion. Suddenly, Onda tells the landlady to hold on and accidentally calls her mother. Later, the landlady's cell phone rings. She opens the cell phone and answers by saying hello. No one is answering because it's actually email. Conan asks the landlady to borrow the cell phone for checking the email. The email is from her granddaughter and it says, "It's been a while, grandma. It's been three months since we last met when I went to Tokyo for my high school reunion. But thanks to my husband's schedule, we'll be back in Tokyo next month. We'll bring our son and look forward to seeing you." It seems that her granddaughter was married already which means what Onda said about being the landlady's granddaughter's boyfriend was a lie.

Meanwhile, the three suspects are wondering if "Kogoro Mouri" can solve the case quickly as soon as possible because they are getting tired of waiting. The police tells them to hold on because even if Kogoro can't solve the case yet, they got no intention of letting them go since they're suspects. Now the three suspects got suspicious of why is the police always following Kogoro Mouri's instructions are ignoring him this time round is because they brought the fake Kogoro Mouri. Sato asks Takagi that they should spill the beans but Takagi said they made the promise to Ran. Unfortunately, Ran said never mind the promise because she wants to find out what's Onda's real purpose of being the fake Kogoro Mouri. Onda is acting so nervous and he sweats a lot. Conan used the voice changing bowtie using Onda's voice saying, "Then as you wish. The great Kogoro Mouri shall reveal the truth behind this case." Conan then drags Onda to the kitchen while pulling his arm where they could talk. Conan told Onda that he called the real Kogoro and heard the truth behind the case from him so Onda will have to go along what Conan says with his deduction.

Scenario: Ran and Conan meet Takae Kiritani, an elderly woman who claims Kogoro had been visiting and assisting her on a weekly basis. They discover that Ryohei Onda has been posing as Kogoro to entertain and assist Kiritani. During their visit, a neighbor, Gensuke Denikawa is found dead by the other neighbors.

When Ran, Sonoko, Sera, and Conan are walking, they receive a phone call from Ran's father Kogoro, who asks her not to bother cooking dinner for him as he will be gone for the night. Upon Conan's explanations, the most logical explanation for Kogoro's behavior for the last few days is that he is carousing at a nearby beer garden. Ran, of course, gets understandibly upset about her father irresponsibility, but then an old lady named Takae Kiritani interjects, claiming that Kogoro has been visiting her lately and helping out with some minor household chores, free of charge.

Upon Ran's revelation that she is Kogoro's daughter, Ran and Conan accept Mrs. Kiritani's invitation for dinner, and soon meet the man the old lady believes to be Kogoro Mouri: a young student named Ryohei Onda, who was asked by Mrs. Kiritani's granddaughter, a fellow student, to help her grandmother against a burglar gang. Though even after the burglars were eventually caught, Onda kept visiting her and helping her out with chores and trivial problems. Now caught in the lie, Onda promises to let to of this deception after this visit, but unfortunately, a loud scream alerts everyone to a crime nearby: in a neighboring apartment house, a man was found in a pool of his own blood.

Conan runs onto the scene past a broken door to find three people standing near a dead man who has collapsed in a doorway holding a knife in his right hand and a room key lying on the floor near him.

Conan asks three people why's the door busted. They answer that the bell on Denkawa's alarm clock wouldn't stop ringing so they came to his door to asked him to shut it down, but he didn't answer so they had no choice but to bust through the door and go inside and found him dead. They answer that all of a sudden, Denkawa started watching television really loud. What's more, he was just zapping through channels the whole time. Suddenly, the apartment landlady tells the three people not to worry because she brought the famous detective, Kogoro Mouri (which is actually Ryohei Onda pretending to be) to solve the case. Later, Sato and Takagi had arrived at the crime scene to investigate. They receive the testimony from three people at the crime scene. Takagi curiously asks Conan that what is he doing at the landlady's house and Ran says that she is an acquaintance of the landlady so Conan came with him. Sato asks Onda of who he is and Onda acts so nervous. The landlady cannot believe that the police doesn't know that the famous detective, Kogoro Mouri is here. Of course Sato knows Kogoro, but until sudden the landlady tells Ran that she's Kogoro's daughter so she wants her to tell the police something. Ran thanks Sato for taking care of Kogoro, while pretending. Sato and Takagi got confused and wondered what exactly is going on.

As Ran secretly told Sato and Takagi everything about why Onda is pretending to be Kogoro Mouri, they'll play along to make the landlady not to find out. So back to the investigation, forensics put the estimated time of death between 5 and 7 PM last night. According to the three people's testimonies, Denkawa was alive around 6 PM, the room key was near the body, and he was holding a bloodstained kitchen knife in his right hand. Judging from the situation, it seems that Denkawa slit his own throat after the three people went out between 6 and 7 PM. Conan doesn't thinks it's suicide and he wonders if the grim reaper did this. The key is on the blood but there's no blood on the key. When Conan found the body, he touched the key a little, it was slightly warm. That's probably because someone hid the key in their palms and threw it near the body when those three entered the room to make it look like the room was sealed. One of the three people who broke the door and entered the room did this. One of those three must've thought that after murdering Denkawa, they'd make a perfect alibi. The three people ask that what was the loud tv sound they heard before setting off and they're certain it's coming from Denkawa's room. Sato answers that someone probably recorded the tv sound ahead of time and used the timer to play it. But then they say the first thing they heard was the 6 PM news, and the date, the weekday and the contents were all from yesterday. Denkawa started zapping two or three times later tough. Sato then thinks he used the DVD or the tape recorder. Nowadays, TVs can turn off automatically if you schedule the time for a program you want to watch and using several extra devices you can make it look like it's zapping through channels. Conan doesn't think that's possible because there's only one tv in the room and doesn't look like there's a timer either. One of the fans fell over and it was Hyodo who tripped on it and knocked it over. He wanted to stop the alarm as soon as possible. The room was dark when three people came in. Bannai tripped on the legs of the body and skinned her elbow. Finally, Ishigame pulled on the cord to turn on the light. Though the room's quite tidy, the laundry was left undried, and there are clothespins scattered all over the place. The newspaper leaflets on the futon also took off. What's more, there's only one tv, so why are there two tv remotes? Conan suddenly notice there's a bloodstain on the side of the remote. He moves the curtain to see through the window. What Conan sees is the next door house of the landlady. He is now certain that the killer is one of those three who found the body.

Scenario: Through Sonoko's contacts, she invites Ran and Conan to attend the pre-opening of a chocolate restaurant managed by the famous chocolatier Yukihiko Tsujimoto. During the presentation, a fire ignites and Tsujimoto burns to death. After Conan investigates, he uses Sonoko to reveal the fire was caused by using a makeshift lithium–air battery; Salt water and the aluminum cups created static electricity which ignited the steel wool and alcoholic vapors. He reveals Mayuko Sakura, the victim's partner, to be the culprit, evidenced by the fact the water was not salted until the presentation began. Sakura confesses and reveals Tsujimoto manipulated her feelings for his own gain and intended to exile her after his success.

Ran, Sonoko, and Conan are invited to the opening ceremony of a chocolate shop that is supported by the Suzuki Group. They meet a woman named Mayuko Sakura, the shop producer. Next they meet a man named Yukihiko Tsujimoto, the chocolatier and he's Mayuko's fiancé. During Tsujimoto's show, the fire breaks out in the shop, killing Tsujimoto. Was this a terrible accident or a planned murder?

When he poured water onto the chocolate sculpture, instead of producing steam, the entire sculpture burst into flames, knocking Tsujimoto into the shop's back wall. The fire spread onto his clothing and he was unable to escape.

Conan realizes the culprits exchanged Agasa's rug with a fake and that the real rug is a valuable Persian rug. He deduces the culprits are knowledgeable about rugs and run a nearby carpet store since they had to disguise their voices. After finding an image of the culprit online, the Detective Boys confront the kidnappers, and have them convicted them based on Ayumi's earprint found on the real rug. Conan has Agasa's video erased, due to Haibara's appearance on it. Elsewhere, Masumi assists in deleting the same videos.

Scenario: The Detective Boys are cooking curry at Agasa's home while Conan is asked to appraise an antique vase. The kids later leave to buy curry ingredient and return to find Agasa unconscious and Ayumi missing. The kidnappers send a message demanding them to look for a cat in return for Ayumi. The kidnappers send a second message saying they found their cat and detailing Ayumi's location. After rescuing Ayumi, who was rolled up in Agasa's antique rug, the Detective Boys attempt to deduce the kidnappers' motive.

Professor Agasa has recently posted a video on a popular website, asking for someone to evaluate an old vase he found in his attic. On the particular day the case occurs, Agasa has invited the Detective Boys to a curry supper. Returning from a shopping trip, Genta and Mitsuhiko encounter Sera, who asks them a couple of detailed questions about Agasa, Ai Haibara and the recent hostage case at the Mouri Detective Agency. But unbeknownest to them, Agasa's house is being eyed by a duo of sinister-minded individuals.

When Mitsuhiko and Genta return to the house, they learn to their frustration that the curry dish is not finished yet. Disgruntled, Genta begins kicking around a soccer ball, but an all-too-unlucky shot makes the ball ricochet right into the curry pot, thoroughly drenching Ayumi. After some well-deserved admonishment, Ai takes the boys out to buy new ingredients, while Ayumi takes a shower and re-dresses. But as the others return from their shopping, they find to their shock that Professor Agasa has been knocked out and that Ayumi and the carpet have gone missing!

The kidnappers used a stun gun to knock Agasa unconscious when he went to answer the door.

After rescuing Ayumi, who was rolled up in Agasa's antique rug, the Detective Boys attempt to deduce the kidnappers' motive.

For Serika's murder, the same culprit used the Gestaltzerfall phenomenon while she was signing contracts. This caused her to forget how to write the Waka (若) kanji forcing her to open a dictionary to the Wa (わ) pages where poison was applied. They reveal the culprit to be Satake, evidenced by the shine on her bronze watch due to a chemical reaction with cyanide. Satake confesses to the murders and explains it was to avenge Wakamatsu who was secretly her father. In the aftermath, Kazuha attempts to confess her feelings to Heiji but fails when he leaves partway.

Conan and Heiji's investigation leads them to realize how Ikuro and Serika were murdered.

Scenario: Heiji explains Kazuha went to Wakamatsu's home in Osaka per the letter's instructions where she finds a disguised person with the word "EYE" carved into the bathroom tiles. The person causes a blackout, sneaks away, and the carved words disappear. Heiji elaborates that Wakamatsu was murdered in his bathroom in Karuizawa, Nagano and that the culprit was hinting a dying message had been left on the tiles. Heiji and Kazuha has Kogoro, Ran, and Conan join them to interview Wakamatsu's widow and close companions who were in his home on the day of his death. During the interview, Ikuro Wakamatsu, the victim's son, dies after eating a poisoned baumkuchen.

Heiji reads a letter he received from an already dead man and old acquaintance of his mother, design company president Kohei Wakamatsu, who was killed a month earlier in his Karuizawa villa.

Heiji proves the letter was sent by someone else by showing the postmark was mailed ten days after the murder, which occured during the wife's birthday party in the restroom. Heiji reads the letter from the culprit wanting Heiji to solve the crime, and is given the house key to the villa in the letter. Kazuha went with three of her friends to look at the home in Osaka while Heiji had a cold. They find a strange looking man in the bathroom who vanished when the lights went out for a moment. Kazuha remembers seeing the word "EYE" scratched in the wall written in english. Heiji went to take a closer look after feeling better, but the house was being rebuilt. He points out that Kohei Wakamatsu's dying message was erased when police arrived as evident by the blood on the victim's finger but no smear. Ran notes that the deceased could have had glue, which was true since he was re-tiling his bathroom at the time, identical tiles to the house in Osaka. The culprit could have flipped the tiles to hide the message. The tiles had a coloring effect where they would get lighter from top to bottom. Everybody, except Sera who wasn't invited, upon reaching the home of the dead man's widow, Serika Wakamatsu, and the son of the dead president, Ikuro Wakamatsu, bursts in demanding dinner. Two more men arrive: Masashige Shiina, the senior managing director, and Sumio Fujinami, the chief designer. Masashige brought baumkuchen, a kind of cake, and Fujinami blurts how he tasted a piece to assure everyone it isn't poisoned. Serika calls for the secretary, Yoshimi Satake, to make some tea while everyone waits. In the living room, the housekeeper Sakurako Yonehara says she saw the dying message before it was erased. His blood was used to write the letter "S". During the cake cutting, Ikuro cuts to the chase wanting to discuss the new company president. As he is explaining why he should be president, he picks up a piece of baumkuchen and drops dead from poison in front of everyone.

The police arrive and investigate how the cake piece that Ikuro ate was the only poisoned piece. Conan points out a capsule in a tea cup which could have been what carried the poison. As the pill is biodegradable, the empty capsule was put in the tea after the poisoning so destroy the evidence. The baumkuchen was cut evenly into eight pieces, the only poisoned piece was that consumed by the victim, and Heiji takes notice of the "S" in the dying message. As it so happens, all five living suspects have an S in their name: Serika, Sumio, Shiina, Satake, and Sakurako.

Scenario: Heiji and Kazuha visit Tokyo where the two part ways. A murder occurs at the restaurant Kazuha is in, forcing Kogoro, Ran, Masumi, Heiji, and Conan to investigate. The witness is Andre Camel who explains the victim's last words were a confession to a poisoning. Heiji reveals the victim was speaking in a Kansai dialect and the victims actual words were referring to an unknown culprit as the poisoner. Realizing the culprit is still in the restaurant, the police narrow down the suspects to three people without alibis. After Heiji is unable to trick the culprits into revealing their Kansai dialect, Conan arranges the three culprits to drink salty miso soup; Tooru Amakasu is revealed to be the culprit after exclaiming the soup to be Karai (辛い, lit. "Spicy"), a Kansai dialect for Tokyo's Shoppai (しょっぱい, lit. "Salty"). As certain evidence, Conan points out Amakasu should have the towel stained with poison from his hands. After Amakasu is arrested, Andre and Jodie Starling examine a photo of Masumi while noting their familiarity with her face. Meanwhile, Heiji reveals his purpose of the visit was to take them to the house of deceased Kohei Wakamatsu after receiving a letter which challenges him to solve the murder.

Heiji and Kazuha visit Tokyo where the two part ways. A man is dead at the restaurant Kazuha is in, forcing Kogoro, Ran, Sera, Heiji, and Conan to investigate.

In the bathroom, Shibamiya is found dead from cyanide poisoning. The witness is Andre Camel who explains the victim's last words were a confession to a poisoning. Heiji reveals the victim was speaking in a Kansai dialect and the victim's actual words were referring to an unknown culprit as the poisoner. Realizing the culprit is still in the restaurant, the police narrow down the suspects to three people without their alibis. After Heiji is unable to trick the culprits into revealing their Kansai dialect, Conan arranges the three culprits to drink salty soup. They are later informed the man was the primary discoverer of the victim in a murder case that happened in Saitama last week.

Scenario: Conan declares Mitsui is innocent since she was witnessed leaving Miku's room; Sawaguri inferred the culprit crossed over from the balcony and left by his room. As for Miku's death, Conan explains she was mimicking the suicide of the main character in her book. Sawaguri becomes distraught as a result and is taken in by the authorities. Later, Conan reveals his previous deduction was a bluff and that Miku was murdered by Yuchi, due to the fact Mitsui left the room with Yuchi's slippers revealing Yuchi was still in Miku's room after she left. As evidence, Yuchi's book reveals it had been sandpapered to clean off Miku's blood. Yuchi confesses and reveals Miku took all the credit on the book they collaborated on motivating her for revenge.

Conan declares Mitsui is innocent as Miku was still alive due to the fact that the witness was able to identify the room's number, something that is not possible if the door was left wide open as the number would be hidden from the view, and only possible if they saw it when Miku was closing the door after Mitsui had left. As for Miku's death, it is a suicide or not?

Scenario: Sawaguri, pleased to have another detective to assist in the case, obeys his requests to take pictures of the hostages' books which were autographed by Miku. During the course of the investigation, the authorities lose the chance to snipe Sawaguri after Ran closes the curtain as she believes Shinichi can find a solution to prevent any deaths. Miku's blog post reveals her last three visitors were from an elephant, a fox, and a rat. Conan explains the animals were based on the hostages' professions: The elephant is Sumika Nihei, due to her husband's seal designs which are similar to an elephant's tusk; Shinobu Yuchi is the fox since she is a baker and her food is colored like a fox's coat; and the rat is Tamami Mitsui whom is a stonemasonry which is gray like a rat's coat. In response, Sawaguri prepares to kill Mitsui.

According to newspaper reports, novelist Miku Sawaguri committed suicide at the Furitsukaya Ryokan a month previous to Isao's threat on the Mouri Detective Agency. Despite the reports, Isao is convinced that his younger sister's novelist friends are responsible for killing Miku.

Isao Sawaguri came to the Mouri Detective Agency and brought together three female novelists he believes are responsible for his younger sister Miku's death the previous month. Isao threatens to blow up the Agency unless Kogoro reveals to him the truth about his sister's death and reveals her murderer.

The gunman, Isao Sawaguri, demands Kogoro to determine which of his three hostages killed his sister. Conan calls Ran to ask who she was spotted walking with. Sera answers and pretends to end the call, allowing Conan to eavesdrop on the situation. Conan learns the case of Sawaguri's sister, Miku Sawaguri, was concluded to be suicide when she was found with her wrist slit and her ryokan room locked. Agasa and the Detective Boys leave to interview the local neighborhood association who were at the ryokan during Miku's death. Conan gradually learns more about the case from information spoken by Sawaguri, the media, and the Detective Boys. Sawaguri then realizes Ran's cellphone is still connected and prepares to shoot Sera until Conan speaks with his voice changing bow-tie as Shinichi Kudo.
