Episode 909: Mystery of the Burning Tent (Part One)

Scenario: Kuroda is sitting at his desk looking at the details of the case from seventeen years ago, thinking deeply about Kohji Haneda and Rumi Wakasa. Shiratori advises him to take a holiday and go camping for a few days. Rumi takes the Detective Boys camping as well. They end up talking with some other campers, who are members of a basketball team. One of them, Danno, had a recent irreversible eye injury and now wears a prosthetic eye, frightening Conan and Haibara who try to figure out if Rumi has a prosthetic eye as well and could be Rum. Urushibara, one of the campers they meet, suddenly starts speaking and acting in a very obnoxious manner to his friends, and shuts himself away in their tent. Soon after, a fire starts in the tent and he gets burned to death. They try to put it out and save Urushibara, to no avail. As they call the police and Inspector Yuminaga turns up, they are surprised to find in a nearby teepee tent another camper, who is revealed to be Kuroda.

Scenario: Kogoro, Ran, and Conan arrive in a park in Tokyo where Ran told them to go. Arrived at the place, they discover the park is nice and charming. They also discover a watermill onlooking the river behind the park's restaurant. Even if it isn't used presently, it used to irrigate the nearby rice field and is now used as a natural icehouse where they make ice for the guests. As they are explained details of the park by the clerk, a group of three graduates who recognize Kogoro Mouri as the great detective. they then take selfies at the riverside to immortalize the moment. They then planned to organize different activities but the fun is quickly interrupted by a tragic event.

Kogoro and Conan encounter the Friendship-related Murder Case. Can they solve it for good?

From their table, they distinguished her body floating in the river stream and Kogoro swam to get her and the verdict was sure: she was dead. Will the great detective impress the scholars and find the truth?

The first man says, "They are taking it in right from the start", and the other replies with an affirmative. That first man continues by telling "The Japanese will understand what gambling is all about". As they watch results, the game then comes at 8-2. The second man asks if they should proceed with buying, and the first man says that it is being taken care of.

The two men that were in that office were doing illegal gambling which is severely punished in Japan since it never happened in the J-League.

After this scene, the boss of the J League is talking to one of his employee Yasuaki Iwasada telling that Japan performance at the World Cup was disappointing with in background a poster of all-star J-League players written "The Second Half of the J League Starts Now!!".

Kogoro couldn't kick the ball in the penalty match since he suddenly felt pain in his stomach. He was then hurried to the infirmary.

After hearing a loud sound, the group head towards Minakitaya's room and found him dead beside his bed with a gush of blood coming out from his head. As a dying message, he left a weird symbol of the "Masked Comet", a superhero.

Episode 905: Eyewitness Testimony Seven Years Later (Part One)

Scenario: Seven years ago, a little girl was walking in Haido city when she witnessed a murder in a backstreet. Two people disguised as superheroes had killed a man and took his money. Suddenly, the two men saw her and approached her.

The criminals killed a man in the street and took an attaché-case containing the money.

On a beautiful morning, Conan, Kogoro and Ran arrive at the Nishiokuho train station after a long trip. Kogoro planned to take them to Hatobue, a guest house, to spend some vacations. As Ran tells him he had a pretty cool idea, a pamphlet drops out from his pouch and Conan notices a publicity about there being a big variety of beers and that the Prince of Beer Minakitaya Otaro is staying there. Ran and Conan are then exhausted by the reason why he came there. Has they are waiting, Kogoro tells them Minakitaya had been part of the comedy duo Minakitaya Otaro and Kyujiro but another man arrives, Masanari Ide, and adds that the group dissolved due to Kyujiro doing an act of violence 3 years ago. Both four then hear the loud yelling of Hiroko Fujiyoshi, who also came there to go the guest house and that embraces Kogoro Mouri since she is a fan of him. The five are waiting until the shuttle arrives and the driver presents himself as Shinsuke Ohara, employee of the lodge. They all enter the shuttle accompanied by a sixth guest, Toru Shirogane, who enters the shuttle too. After a twenty minute ride to the lodge, they finally arrive there. Two people were arguing there, the lodge owner and another mysterious man who quickly left the lodge when the others arrived. The guests hop off the shuttle and are greeted by Asako Yuri, the lodge owner. She redirects them to the living room where Miona Yuri, the lodge owner's daughter is there. They sit and discuss Cow Magnets, objects used to retrieve the metal stuck in cows' bellies and that could be used as a game of magnetism until Otaro arrives. Everybody is impressed. Hiroko literally freaks out at his glance and jumps in front of him brandishing her autograph book for him to sign it. He happily signs it and Hiroko go brag about it to the group.

A bit later, the lodge owners served fresh-made tea to the guests while Hiroko ask why did Minakitaya come her often. He answers her by saying there is a huge selection of beers and that the air is calm and clean so he comes there once a month. At the same time, the hosts are cutting their baumkuchen to be served to the guests and Fujiyoshi asks Ide what's the logo he has on his shirt. As he answers it is the masked comet Byun's logo, Miona shivers and almost drop her plates. Ide continues by saying it was a popular hero show that aired seven years ago and that it was about a hero who fights to protect the Earth from the Hell's demon King Dyark and his quest for world domination. Byun was once one of the demon's henchmen but was touched by the kindness of an earthling girl and decide to reforms itself and defend the planet. Hiroko adds that the show was canceled and Ide sighs as he says it was at the show's climax. Toru replies by saying that the show's ratings were terrible and Ide, without noticing his comments says that it was pretty cool and retrieves a mask from his bag and wears it by performing an act Byun did but hears the sound of loud plates breaking on the ground. Miona had fell due to an unknown shock and his mom hurries to make her cool down. After a good glass of water, she gets refreshed and Shinsuke decide to start preparing dinner. Everybody had free time until 6 so Fujiyoshi decides to invite Ran, Conan and Miona to take a walk and be familiar of the surroundings. Kogoro decides to sleep in his room until dinner starts, Ide passes too and Toru was going to read his book. Minakitaya is going to pass too since he needs to call his manager. Before leaving, Conan notices an old newspaper cut showing a robbery and murder in Haido city and that the culprits were still at large and decides to give it back to Shirogane who had lost it. Furiously, Toru grabs back the paper as Conan leaves puzzled by his weird attitude. As the group of walkers pass by the parking, Hiroko notices the Corvette of Minakitaya and tells that's it's his third car (the first being a light truck and the 2nd a sedan). Not far from there, in an abandoned lake forensics officer are canvassing the area in search of potential evidences in inflatable boats. Assistant-inspector Muramatsu and his assistant have found a body of an unknown man who seems to have been drowned. With a lot of belongings, nothing seemed to point out who he was. The only possible evidence was a weird superhero card which his assistant points out was from This Incident.

As Makoto Muramatsu returns home, he is called to a scene where police officers had found a corpse. After investigations, he head to the lodge since he deduced his death must have been related to the guests of the lodge.

Back at the guest house, the prized guests are preparing to eat dinner with an appetizer drink that Shinsuke is brandishing: an inviting fruit beer. Perplexed, Kogoro asks what's a fruit beer and Minakitaya says it to be made in Belgium since ages ago with fruits like raspberries and cherries. Everyone is pleased with its aroma of citron which makes people feel the unique taste and refreshing smell of the fruit. They all toast for today's meeting. Kanpai! (cheers). They are next served a pilsner, really popular among Japanese people. As Otaro says, they have a good balance of flavor, bitterness and aroma. The third beer is an IPA (Indian Pale Ale), a beer with intense bitterness which is one of Otaro's favorites. Since they aren't adults, Ran and Conan are flavoring fruit juices, soups and a delicious swiss-styled squeegee with delightful meat. Next is a porter beer, an English beer with an intense smell or roasted malt which compliments the meat's flavor. All guests then hurry themselves to the terrace where they enjoy an unusual beer for dessert. A beer which doesn't look like beer for its color but definitly is beer when it comes to its not too bitter taste and crisp flavor. The reason of its unusual look is because it is dyed with gardenias. Ran, Conan and Miona are playing the cow magnets game and she loses but the Nishiokuho police enter in the building and direct themselves to the terrace. Both of the detectives (Muramatsu and his assistant) show their police cards and his assistant remarks Kogoro Mouri, the famous detective is here. Asako gets angry and ask Muramtsu to get out if it's about the case. With a little nod of the head, Muramatsu and his assistant tell that earlier at approximately 5 pm, a body was found near the lake behind the guest house and that since the river flowing by the house is connected to the lake, there was probably a connection to the guests of the house. Since they didn't have any identity of him, they showed a picture of the deceased who remembered Asako of a client who went there two months ago. They head inside the living room and start checking the records until they find the right person, Sujiro Kitamoto. Astonished, Otaro gets up of his chair and yell if that was true. He goes with the detectives who ask if he was Minakitaya Otaro. Desperate, he tells them that even if he changed on the picture, the man was probably Kyujiro, his past comedy duo member.

Episode 901: Lawyer Kisaki's SOS (Part One)

Scenario: Ran is excited to watch a movie with her parents after a long time. However, Kogoro is reluctant to the idea since it stars Yoko Okino as a lawyer who saves her boyfriend who is a detective from a false accusation, a plot similar to one that actually happened with Kogoro and Eri. In the end of the movie, the detective clings to his girlfriend and says some cheesy lines, much to the annoyance of Kogoro. He is sure that the premium seat tickets Eri sent him is because she is going to tell him at the end of the movie to reflect on his mistakes like the detective boyfriend. While they argue, Ran receives a friend request on her messaging app from Eri and accepts it. A while later Eri messages Ran saying that he has been kidnapped and to inform the police. However, the impostor who was added to the group by Ran a while ago negates her statements saying that she was only joking. During the chaos, they are unable to identify who the real Eri is.

Two hours earlier, Eri is seen talking to Midori about the movie Ran is pestering her to see with Kogoro and that she doesn't want her stomach to growl during the movie since it will embarrass her in front of Kogoro. Midori teases her that it does not matter when her stomach growls in front of her clients, but when it's her ex-husband, she is extra careful to present her at her best. Eri is speechless and embarrassed, that is when there is a knock on the door. After Midori opens the door, the kidnappers stupefy her and Eri, and then kidnap Eri in a case. On reaching the location, one of the kidnappers sees blood flowing out of the case. When he tries to open it, Eri jerks out of the case and knocks him out. Seeing no way of escape, she takes the kidnapper's phone and goes to hiding.

Scenario: Ayano Saeki and Mifuyu Morita work together in the bakery. Morita invites Saeki to hang-out in her apartment. While Saeki is standing at her door, she hears Morita screaming at her boyfriend Atsushi Tabata. When she enters with the spare key, Mifuyu is lying down on the floor having been stabbed in the chest apparently. There are footprints leading to the balcony. Mifuyu tells Saeki to run for her life saying that her boyfriend is still in the apartment.

Ayano found her friend stabbed in her bedroom, with a bloodstained knife lying next to her.

While running on the street to get help, Saeki bumps into Kogorō and Conan who apparently notice something strange with her and the blood on her shoulder. She explains that her friend has been stabbed. Saeki leads them to Mifuyu's apartment where they find the knife used for stabbing the victim lying on her floor but there is no body lying around. Conan notices the footsteps are dry which is strange because it hasn't been much time since the incident occurred. The police are called. Kogoro notices a suitcase missing and speculates that the culprit ran with her body in the suitcase. Later they go to the boyfriend's house. Saeki reveals that Atsushi was a fraud and had extracted 10 million yen from the victim. For this reason, Mifuyu was going to sue him.

They find blood outside Atsushi's house and drag marks of the suitcase inside which the body was carried. On entering the house, they find Atsushi poisoned on the table. Beside him is a letter that reads: "I'm going to meet Mifuyu".

Atsushi is found lying dead, head on table, with a suicide note and a coffee cup next to him, speculated to be the one used to administer the poison.

Kogoro concludes that Atsushi felt guilty after killing Mifuyu so he committed suicide. They also find the suitcase used for carrying Mifuyu in another room. This is confirmed by a strand of hair inside it. Kogoro leaves the case to the Inspector as solved and they set out to search for the victim's dumped body.

Scenario: Case of The Melting Cake made Amuro confused. Thus Conan and his crews search for clues to solve that problem.

Kogoro, Ran, and Conan go to Cafe Poirot in the morning for breakfast. Kogoro barges in before the shop actually opens causing Azusa to be angry. She, however, welcomes Ran and Conan to come in as well. Azusa uses IoT (Internet of Things) to control the electric kettle to boil water sometime before they reach the cafe. As they have breakfast, an issue seems to be happening with Amuro's cake. Last night when he prepared it, it was perfect but this morning it has melted. The Detective Boys call Conan using the Detective Badge informing him of the Professor's latest invention, a drone. While the communication is taking place, the rotors of the drone suddenly start spinning and it flies and crashes into the roof causing Agasa to be disappointed. He goes inside to fix the drone. Conan witnesses the panic on the other side.

The electrician is called for fixing the refrigerator but he claims that there is nothing wrong with it. Ayumi after eating the cake runs to a nearby restaurant which sells cakes suspiciously similar to Amuro's, but taste completely different with Amuro's being more delicious. The Detective Boys claim that someone in the restaurant probably ruined Amuro's cake to make their sales bigger. Conan, drove by his own curiosity as well as the Detective Boys persuasion, installs his phone to record footage of Cafe Poirot during the night. Nothing suspicious is seen in the footage.

Azusa says that the cake only melts two out of every three days. Conan continues to capture footage and finds that the days the cake melted corresponds to a car passing by the cafe the night before, of which the reflection is seen in the windows of the cafe but the inside of the cafe can not be seen.

Scenario: Genta's hand smells of ladies foundation. Conan deduces it has to do something with the case. Haibara tries to write on her face using her phone as a mirror, but fails miserably. She is also unable to erase the funny rings she accidentally drew on her face having used a permanent marker. Genta is asleep on the painting. He wakes up with a tiger mark on his face. Conan finds a convenience store receipt dated that morning under his sitting mat. Incidentally, Wakasa went to the convenience store in the morning because all the good food stuff runs out after school. As a result, she was late for school, which is a very rare case.

Scenario: Rumi Wakasa's neighbour and a pro-golfer, Teigo Banno, who has just won big, is arguing with his girlfriend. He is moving to the US and wants to start with a 'clean slate'. He offers to break-up with her. His girlfriend and a model, Kurumi Iiyama, threatens him with lawsuit of 1 Million Yen relying on the power of her father, who is a lawyer. He calms her down and invites her to dinner to solve the feud. While she is leaving, he murmurs, "This will be our last supper together". Wakasa overhears their conversation from behind.

Conan is playing 'Ikku' in the school play, which happens the day after. Kobayashi-sensei, Rumi-sensei as well as Conan's classmates are astonished at his wonderful acting and delivery of his lines. It seems that Conan had played 'Ikku-san' as Shinichi before and his parents had trained him well. This is why, he missed several rehearsals as Conan as he remembered most of his lines.

During the clean-up and preparation for the play, Wakasa accidentally spills dirty water over her painting of the tiger. She says that she'd repaint it without any problem but the reference photo she used is in her apartment and she'd need Conan for correctly matching the size of the painting. Conan and the Detective Boys agree to accompany her to her apartment. During their arrival, they see a lady wearing a hat and sunglasses knocking at the door of Wakasa's neighbor. When her neighbour doesn't respond, she bangs on the door in rage, clicks her tongue and leaves. After the Detective Boys and Wakasa are done painting and having a meal served by Wakasa to show her appreciation, loud music starts playing at her neighbour's room. When the music doesn't seem to stop, Genta goes to complain and, to his astonishment, finds two people lying on the floor with a pool of blood below the lady's head. Conan, Wakasa and the others arrive.

The neighbour, Teigo Banno, gets up and is frightened. The bludgeoned victim was apparently his girlfriend, Kurumi. Megure arrives with his team and starts investigating. Teigo says that a lady with sunglasses and a hat came and made him unconscious with a stun gun. When his girlfriend came at the same time, she was killed. The culprit wrote 'I love you' on his face. The two polaroid photos lying next to him prove it. The Detective Boys try to convict the boyfriend for the murder but the evidence seems to be on his side. Wakasa finally mentions Teigo's encounter with his girlfriend in the morning.

Scenario: Kogoro wins a horse race with the price money being 100 times of the original bet, which turns out to be 1 Million Yen. But he admits that it is a ticket he accidentally picked up. Regardless, they go to the neighbourhood sushi restaurant to celebrate. There they meet Wakita who turns out to be proficient in deductive reasoning. He correctly predicts the horse Kogoro bet on just by listening to their conversation. While introducing himself, Wakita says that he is a detective maniac and that he struggles to stay at one place and is constantly moving. He wanted Kogoro to narrate some cases he had solved. It seems that Wakita has a 'bad' eye, much to the suspicion of Conan as an eligible 'Rum' suspect.

Meanwhile, a lady storms into the restaurant shouting that somebody stole her pouch. The pouch is found by the lady on the restaurant bathroom. She says that it was stolen on the train and that the culprit should have an injury to the wrist administered by her as she caught the hand of the thief on the busy train.

The thief most likely overhears the conversation and stole the pouch just for the winning ticket which pays a hundred fold.

Wakita seems to be getting competitive with Kogoro, who avoids going any further into the matter as it seems that the ticket he accidentally picked up was originally hers.

Later, Conan and friends find chef owner Kuchiishi bleeding from his head. When Kogoro asks about the missing customers, he points towards the back door. A note with the character for "curse" is posted on the door, and five sets of footsteps lead to the lake ten meters past it. Conan feels something is off about the crime scene and closes in on the truth behind the mysterious case.

He suddenly exclaimed himself that he would be rich and woke up the whole train wagon making Ran and Conan a bit uncomfortable. They later arrived at the Shin-Yamaguchi Station and again, Kogoro exclaimed himself that they arrived in Yamaguchi. Because they had plenty of time before the meeting started, they decided to do sightseeing but Kogoro ran into Natsume Asuka, a Yamaguchi news site reporter at Yamaguchi Shimbun and she gave him her business card. When she asked Kogoro why they were in Yamaguchi, he said that they were only sightseeing not mentioning the mysterious letter from Kurataya Komakichi.

Later, Kimika recounts a memory of her husband in hopes that it will help them find the book. Conan realizes where the book is and the true contents of the box, but Kid makes his move.

Scenario: A pop-up book and pink smartphone are delivered to the Mori Detective Agency. In the pop-up book are warnings of a series of explosions. The riddle for the location of the third bomb is "the middle of 7." Conan and his friends think of things expressed in sevens and what the middle of those things might be. In a week, it's Thursday. In a rainbow, it's green. In a musical scale, it's fa. Overwhelmed by the number of possibilities, Kogoro holds his head in his hands. At the police station, they begin searching for places, companies, and schools corresponding to Thursday, Green, and fa, but Conan reasons that Hirukawa's target lies elsewhere.

Takuji, disguised as a Police Officer, interpellated the two employees in their van and made it explode to get the money inside.

Episode 883: The Pop-up Book Bomber (Part One)

Scenario: A package consisting of a smartphone and a print proof of a book entitled Grandpa Tick Tock and the Three Clocks by Kenichi Imai was deivered to the Mouri Detective Agency. Meanwhile, an explosion on a pachinko named Sandcastle happened on a gloomy weather.

The connecion of the seemingly unrelated explosion and the delivery was revealed to be related after a call on that smartphone mocked Kogorō and hints again on another bomb at a certain block in Haido City. The book has a riddle that is related to the case: on a bus station, five people are waiting. A bus with three passengers arrived. Two passengers get off the bus at the next stop while a passenger rode the bus. How many are the people on the bus when it arrived at its destination?

Kogorō then called Inspector Megure about the issue, and Kogorō, Ran and Conan went into the place. Immediately after they arrived, Inspector Megure asked the police to find the said bomb and called Inspector Takagi, showing a possible suspect: a bomber named Takuji Hirukawa. Then, Inspector Chiba, with the publisher named Hiroyuki Tomonaga, checked the book which was stolen and narrated what happened. The author of the book, Kenichi Imai tried to enter a book contest when a rumor about his half-brother, identified as Takuji, was posted to the internet causing him to withdraw the contest. After his death, Hiroyuki have tried to publish the book, however the print proof was retrieved by his half-brother, who attacked him to make the attempt successful. The bomb was found and still incomplete.

An attempted explosion that was apparently made due to hatred at the "detective" who posted incriminating information about him and his half-brother. The bomb was disposed safely by Kogoro before it was apparenlty stopped.

Scenario: Ten years ago, immediately after a young Kudo Shinichi meets Akai Shuichi's family on the beach, a car falls off a cliff. It becomes clear the car belonged to two thieves who robbed a watchmaker. The driver died immediately, but their accomplice fled from the sinking car and blended in with the crowd on the beach. With the help of Shinichi and his friends, Shuichi narrows down the suspects to Fukumizu Shigekatsu, Kitamori Yasue, and Oami Raiya. The police detective decides to question the three of them, and Shuichi determines which of them is the robber based on their testimony.

Scenario: Ten years ago, Masumi, taken by her middle brother Shukichi and their mother Mary, reunite with Shuichi who did not take the test yet to become an FBI agent in the Atsuhama Beach, Shizuoka Prefecture. Mary had an off-screen fight with him where they both managed to injure each other's eye. Through out the case Mary warns him to stop investigating the disappearance of his father. The Akai family also encountered Shinichi, Ran and Yukiko who also happened to be there. Shinchi introduce himself as "Holmes Apprentice". All of them end up being involved in a case where two robbers robbed a watch shop with one of them accidentally got killed in an accident, and the other was still on the run.

When the vehicle crashed into the guardrail, the driver's head smashed into the windshield, breaking his cervical vertebrae in the process. The man was killed upon impact.
