Scenario: Conan and the group go to a coffee shop. Nearby, two men are having a meeting. One of them gets up to go to the bathroom, and while he's gone, a truck slams into the coffee shop and smashes the other man who was still seated. Conan realizes it was a planned murder and finds evidence through the truck, and the man's cut.

A truck slammed into the coffee shop and crushed Aida, resulting in his death.

Conan and the Detective Boys go to a coffee shop to meet up with Professor Agasa. Nearby, Ohara and Aida are having a meeting. Ohara gets up to go to the bathroom, and while he's gone, a truck slammed into the coffee shop and crushed Aida who is still seated. Conan realizes it wasn't the negligence of the driver but a murder.

After Shiho climbed the chimney, someone shot her from the back. Shiho realizes it was Gin who is aware that she uses the chimney to climb out the cellar. Gin then shoots her multiple times, nearly killing her.

Scenario: Shiho climbs to the top of the chimney only to be confronted by Gin and Vodka. Gin explains that he heard her breathing in the chimney while in the storage room and was waiting to ambush her on the roof. Gin prepares to kill her Shiho is saved when Conan intervenes - changing his voice so they will not recognize him later; allowing Shiho to fall down the chimney and back into the storage room before becoming a child again. Pisco prepares to kill Vi before he is interrupted by Conan who greets him as Kenzou Matsuyama the party guest. Conan reveals that Matsuyama lured Nomiguichi under the chandelier during the slide show and fired a silenced handgun at a fluorescence painted section of the chandelier causing it to kill Nomiguichi. Conan asks how Matsuyama was able to get a purple handkerchief after losing his but Matsuyama refuses to answer the question. Matsuyama's cigarette mixed with the wine in the storage room causes a fire and allows Conan and Vi to escape. Gin confronts Matsuyama and explains that a journalist had taken a picture of Matsuyama committing the crime; To keep the Organization a secret, Gin kills Matsuyama. Shortly after, Gin and Vodka are seen with a third Black Organization member codenamed Vermouth.

Gin and Vodka meet Shiho on the rooftop, already aware that she used the chimney to escape the wine cellar. There, the two shoot her down. Conan arrives and shoots Gin with his needle, then distracts them with his bow-tie, turning their attention to his location. Shiho retreats, jumping back down the chimney before they're able to kill her. Conan escapes too. Gin shoots himself in the arm to remain alert, overcoming Conan's sleeping darts.

Megure and Takagi decide to release the guests after being unable to detain everyone as a suspect. When the guests exit, Conan and Haibara follow suit. When they start pushing each other, Haibara gets separated from Conan. Someone caught her from the back and drugged her using some kind of drug, most likely chloroform, causing her to fall asleep.

Scenario: Conan investigates and reveals to Vi that the purple handkerchief will narrow down the suspects. Conan explains that the party is holding an event that is dedicated to a film known as "The Rainbow Handkerchief"; all the party guests are given various handkerchiefs with colors of the rainbow and that Pisco is one of the people in the purple handkerchief group. When the party guests rush out of the room in a panic, Haibara is knocked unconscious by Pisco and awakens in a locked wine storage room. Conan contacts Vi through a communication device and tells her he had the police hold up the seven suspects which will buy her time to escape. Conan tells Vi to drink some wine which when combined with her cold will negate the effects of to APTX 4869 and subsequently allowing her to regress back into her teenage self, Shiho Miyano. Meanwhile, Gin and Vodka enter the hotel and make their way to the storage room.

The police question everyone, and unable to maintain everyone as a suspect, the guests rush out the door. In the turmoil, Haibara is kidnapped by someone and confined to a liquor storage room. Elsewhere, Gin and Vodka are on their way to the hotel. Haibara drinks baijiu, directed by Conan, in hopes that she'll be able to turn back into Shiho and climb out the chimney. Will she be able to escape in time before Gin and Vodka find her?

Scenario: On the way home from school, Conan and Vi find Gin's Porsche 356 on the street and places a covert listening device in it. Conan hears that a Black Organization member codenamed Pisco is ordered to assassinate someone at a party hosted at Haido Hotel. Gin finds a strand of Vi's hair in the car and manages to find the bug and destroys it; He realizes Shiho will be at the hotel and orders Pisco to kill her when he gets the chance. Conan and Vi head to the hotel in order to capture Pisco. During a slide show, Pisco manages to murder his target, a lawyer named Shigehiko Nomiguchi, by causing a chandelier to fall onto of him.

When the lights are off for showing the clips, Conan and Haibara realized the politician had disappeared. They run around the room to find the politician. However, Conan hears a weird sound and a loud crash. After the lights are on, Mr. Nomiguchi is revealed to be crushed by the chandelier. Conan knows that Pisco is the true mastermind behind the murder, but can he find out who is it?

Haibara has a dream that Gin finds her. Later, after school, Conan and Haibara find Gin's car by chance. Conan plants a tracker in his car before he and Vodka take off. He then learns that Gin and Vodka are planning to eliminate someone, and already has a member named Pisco in the area. Gin then finds the tracker and destroys it, believing Sherry placed it there. Using the info they already gathered, Conan and Haibara rush to stop Pisco's mission from succeeding. Though, when they arrive, the lights go out, and a chandelier falls down, crashing on the target.

After a passenger is murdered, they learn that a man named Saizou Kanou, the Organizer of the Shadows is on the boat.

The stakes are raised when Heiji is thrown into the Pacific Ocean while investigating and a bomb is discovered to be hidden on the ship. Is there something more sinister afloat, or has Kano returned from the dead to enact his vengeance 20 years later?

Scenario: Bloody marks are discovered at and near the crime scene. Conan puts Kogoro to sleep to reveal that the culprit imitated the fireworks noise by blowing into a 5 yen coin, making people believe the fireworks started early. The killer is revealed to be Izumi Sano and the ”S” is not the real code, but the “K.I.X.” was. Chihiro was killed instantly as she was shot through her heart. K.I.X is the special code for Kansai Int’l Airport, located in Izumisano, Japan. She wrote the “S” on the wall after killing Chihiro with her own shotgun, using reverse psychology as the basis of her methods. As evidence, the blades of Izumi’s skates have traces of Chihiro’s blood on them. Izumi confesses with revenge as her motive for a deceased friend whose fatal accident was really a suicide, caused by Chihiro’s lies. The next day, Ran receives a new phone from Shinichi in the mail. The murder trick is revealed.

A murder occurs in the women's bathroom and there are what appear to be two dying messages, an S smeared in blood and the victim's phone, which reveals the letters KIX when the redial function is pressed.

Scenario: Ran, Sonoko, and Conan are at the Tropical Land ice rink where they meet a group of people: Yasuharu Misawa, Izumi Sano, Yoriko Komatsu, Chihiro Itami, and Kunitomo Oda. Chihiro goes to the women's bathroom where she is being followed by a cloaked figure. A shotgun is forced into Chihiro’s mouth by the figure as she attempts to talk her way out of her situation. Moments later, the fireworks start and Sonoko finds Chihiro dead inside the bathroom stall. An “S” smeared in blood indicates that Izumi Sano is the killer but she has the alibi of being with Ran at the start of the fireworks. They find Chihiro’s phone in her pocket and when they try redialing the last number, it reveals the letters “K.I.X”.

Scenario: Conan establishes that Yoshiteru was murdered and finds several clues missed by the police including a broken piece of a vase. Mitsu suffered a small cut and Hikaru burnt herself. Conan, through Kogoro, announces his experiment to solve the case, however, it is actually a trap to catch the killer, Yoko Araide. Conan deduces that Yoko flashed her pin light in Yoshiteru’s face so he wouldn’t see her sliding the razor into the bathtub. Hikaru flipped the breaker back on, thus killing Yoshiteru, as planned by Yoko. Prior to the murder, Hikaru broke another vase and hid it out of fear of being fired. Mitsu stepped on a shard on the second floor, and Tomoaki was held by Ran during the situation, leaving Yoko the only one with ample opportunity to commit the murder. Yoko confesses that her friend Chaiki was married to Yoshiteru but committed suicide due to his infidelity. She would then marry him to exact her revenge. Conan requests Yoko to bend the truth to spare Hikaru from knowing she is the actual cause of her employer’s death. After the case, Ran asks Tomoaki for his sweater so she can knit a similar one for Shinichi.

While Kogoro, Megure, and Takagi test all possible scenarios, Conan discovers several clues missed by the police and adds them up to the solution of the case. And as usual, he stuns Kogoro to use him as a mouthpiece to deliver his conclusions. But poor Tomoaki vehemently protests the questionings, claiming that none of his family could have done such a thing...!

Yoshiteru Araide leaves to take his habitual bath before dinner. A blackout occurs while Yoshiteru Ariade is in the bath. The maid Hikaru Yasumoto resets the circuit breaker once, and then once again when the lights go back out. Yoko Araide and Hikaru go to check on Yoshiteru... and find him dead in the full bathtub, with a submerged electric razor.

Scenario: Conan detects a change in Ran’s behavior and speculates that she may have something going on. Kogoro, on the other hand, takes them to his doctor Yoshiteru Araide’s house for a checkup. There, they meet the doctor, his wife Yoko, his mother Mitsu, and son, Tomoaki Araide, with who Ran seems smitten by. The maid, Hikaru, breaks a vase and is warned by Yoshiteru that she’ll be fired if she does it again. During dinner, Yoshiteru takes a bath and a black out occurs and another vase breaks. Hikaru flips the breaker on, and she and Yoko find Yoshiteru dead with his electric razor in the bathtub. Alibis and suspect locations are checked but Conan can’t bring himself to concentrate on the case as Tomoaki and Ran are seen drawing closer to each other.

Conan as Shinichi calls Ran but she's got something do and someplace to go. Conan muses that Ran must have something going on, something that's making her happy with anticipation.

Next, Kogoro Mouri gets Ran and Conan in the car and drives them to the office of his doctor, Yoshiteru Araide, who had insisted that he bring his family. While they're all in the doctor's home-based office, Ran asks the doctor's wife to use their bathroom. On the way there, she bumps into the doctor's young, altruistic, brilliant and very handsome son; she knocks a sheaf of papers from his hands, and experiences a significant touch from his hand to the top of hers when picking up the papers.

Later, after accepting an invitation to dinner there, both Kogoro and the doctor's wife Yoko cheerfully suggest that the son, Tomoaki Araide, and Ran marry. Logically, Conan gets jealous BIG time! However, Yoshiteru gets electrocuted to death when taking a bath.

Conan is quick to discover the cause for Dr. Araide's death: his electric razor has fallen into the filled tub, electrocuting him. Though it seems that Dr. Araide must have dropped the razor himself, Conan notices that some things don't quite add up: Why was Dr. Araide sitting with his back to the mirror mounted at the end of the bathtub when he was shaving? And where did Hikaru get the burn mark on her arm? But what distracts Conan from the case is that Ran and Tomoaki seems strangely drawn to each other, and a disconcerting thought dawns inside him: Could Ran have become interested in Tomoaki now? He is a rather handsome and popular fellow, after all ...

Scenario: Moore is invited to an aquarium where an underwater play is to take place, A woman's dead body rises from the water when it's her cue to come out of a clam's shell in the play. Conan solves the case and the culprit reveals it was revenge for the murder of his wife and child.

During the show, Oosawa's dead body rises from the clam in front of a horrified audience.

Kogoro is invited with Ran and Conan to an aquarium where an underwater play is to take place. They meet the man named Masato Hayashi who is a stage director. Next to him is the woman who plays as Venus named Michiko Oosawa. When Hayashi gives a tour around the aquarium, they meet two other people. There's Yasuyuki Murakawa, the head of staff. Finally, there's Yuriko Minegishi, she counts as another Venus in the group. Later during the show, Oosawa's dead body rises from the water when it's her cue to come out of a clam's shell in the play.

Scenario: Conan tranquilizes Kogoro and cooperates with Heiji to shed light on the case. First, Misa’s real father is Ryuji, not Nobukazu. The conception was an arrangement between Ryuji and Kinuyo, because Nobukazu had been declared steril and Kinuyo desperately wanted a child. Second, after setting up massive piles of fishing line and a noose that was connected to a car with string, Nobukazu was lured to the room under the promise of a fruitful drug deal and killed; A BB gun pellet was shot at the window to get Nobukazu to look out. The killer drove away, the noose wraps around Nobukazu’s neck pulling him in the opposite direction, the string snaps causing his corpse to fall into the fishing line below in order to take revenge for Misa’s suicide as well to put blame on the spider curse. Robert is the murderer, he is revealed to have killed Negishi as well for making a rude comment about Misa, and attacked Kazuha because she found a BB gun pellet mistaking it for a pearl. As evidence, a few people knew about Nobukazu‘s death as he was entangled in strings and outside of those, one more person knew, the killer himself. Robert confesses how he was enraged how no one stopped Misa’s suicide. When he shows no mercy for attacking Kazuha, Heiji reveals it was his own message; Robert wrote “SHINE” as in ”the shine of his life.” “SHI-NE” in Japanese means “die.” Robert, completely devastated and regretting his actions, is arrested for the murders. The trick used in the murder is revealed.

Scenario: Conan and Heiji investigate further into the ghastly death of Nobukazu as well as the suicides of Misa, Kinuyo, and Negishi. Nobukazu suffered a blow to the back of the head before he was killed. It is brought to light that Robert was involved in a rockslide accident but was nursed back to health by Misa; they communicated with Romanji, but after Robert left, Misa committed suicide, her mother, Kinuyo, followed suit. Misa was already facing depression because she had learn that she was not her father's daughter, shrouding her birth in mystery. Emi and Sae claim Robert killed Misa after wrote a letter telling her to die. Robert has an alibi for the crime as he drove to the mountains with Ran and Kazuha. Chie was alone in her room, and Yoko was bathing with her daughters. When Kazuha hasn’t been seen for some time, the group finds her entangled in the spider’s web, severely injured but still alive. Heiji finds a stun gun in the incinerator, he and Conan find tiny holes in the window at the crime scene and fishing lines with hoops at each end, and Negishi and Nobukazu are believed to be drug dealers after cocaine is found in their puppets. Together, they realize who the killer is and how the murder was pulled off.

Kazuha is attacked with a stun gun after discovering some bb pellets. While searching, Heiji notices that the warehouse door, that he closed, was open and the criminal runs before Kazuha is killed. The twins claim that Robert wrote "Die" on a note to Misa.

Scenario: Hattori Heiji, bringing along Kazuha, is hired by the rich Takeda family to investigate a series of suspicious suicides that has plagued their mansion in Tottori Prefecture. Along the way, he gets lost but runs into Robert Taylor, a lost American, and Kogoro, Ran, and Conan, who happen to be traveling to meet the same client for the same reason. After arriving at the mansion, they meet the Takeda family, consisting of Yuzo, Yoko, Ryuji, Nobukazu, Sae, Emi, Chie, and housekeeper Shioya. Yuzo explains to them of the “spider curse”; in ancient times, a beautiful woman morphed into a gigantic spider attempting to attack a traveler, it was shot with burning arrows and retreated to the forest where it died. Misa and Kinuyo Takeda both hanged themselves, and 3 years before, Akio hung himself as well. When dinner is finished, Nobukazu disappears, but is found in hanging in a locked room with his corpse entangled in a “spider‘s web.”

Heiji and Kazuha take a motorcycle ride to the Yonago mountains of the Tottori prefecture, but they get lost in their way there. Kazuha remarks on how they forgot their cellphones and have run out of gas, and Heiji yells at her (and childishly pulls on her cheek) for tagging along when it isn't needed. It turns out Heiji was hired for a nice amount of money by a rich Tottori family to investigate some odd things that have happened in their home, but didn't give him their phone number.

The two are close to the forest and don't have camping gear handy, so Heiji says they should just plop down and sleep close together to keep each other warm. Kazuha is flustered at the idea and then gets angry when Heiji adds that he hopes she won't snore... and them someone appears from behind them and teases them about how couples shouldn't fight. It's an American man named Robert Taylor who is fluent enough in Japanese to understand their banter and acts very familiar towards the two; he mentions a Takeda family that housed him some years ago, and Heiji and Kazuha recognize their surname as the one of the family that hired Heiji... but he's lost, so he cannot really help them to get to their mansion.

After the dinner, Nobakazu goes to the shed to make some puppets, but when they discover that Nobukazu was not sleeping they search for him and so hanging on the shed. Heiji reveals that it is murder because there is no such thing as spider's curse.

A van passes around and, to call up the attention of the people in it, Heiji throws his helmet towards them... The driver's compantion turns out to be Kogoro, who gets hit and gets VERY mad at Heiji. Ran and Conan are also with him and they give Heiji, Kazuha and Robert a ride to the Takeda property. It turns out Kogoro was also hired by the Takedas, and for a very high sum of money as well, even sending out one of the family members, third son Yuuzo, to pick the group up in their van. He and Heiji discuss how the cards they also got from the family are rather odd and refer to a "spider". Yuzo Takeda explains that this about a "spider curse" that has befallen the Takeda family and their home, known as the "Spider Mansion of Tottori", one that no criminal should get close to. Yuzo then talks to Robert, whom he remembers from the time he was in Tottori. They talk about a girl named Misa, but Yuzo doesn't reply when he asks about her well-being.

When the group arrives to the Takeda household, Robert is devastated to learn that Misa, who had taken care of him in his last visit, killed herself by hanging few after his departure. Her mother Kinuyo and the family friend/associate Akio Negishi also commited suicide in a similar way. The one who relays the news is Youko, Yuzo's sister in law, who has just come from Tokyo alongside her husband Ryuuji and their kids Sae and Emi; Negishi was the business partner of Nobukazu Takeda, a famous doll-maker and Misa's father, as well as the one who actually hired Kogoro.

Nobukazu is surprised to see that Kogoro has brought several people with him, and he makes Heiji, Kazuha and Conan pass off as Ran's friends. He then talks briefly to Robert, who thanks him for letting him stay around some time ago. The twin girls Sae and Emi also arrive, but when Robert greets them cheerfully, they quietly call him "murderer" and accuse him of coming to kill people again before their mom scolds them and run away. The matriarch of the family, Chie, also watches them from a distance.

Kids have been disappearing one after the other, and the dolls each disappeared one had also vanished each time. The plot resembled the one of the play they trying to re-enact, which was based on Agatha Christie's And then, there were none, where ten people were invited on an island and disappeared one after the other, while a doll representing them also disappeared.

The Detective Boys, but not Haibara, are in a puppeteer camping trip in Ungaoka, Kanagawa Prefecture, where they are practicing for a school puppet play. At the same time, a serial arsonist has been spotted near the areas of the camp. While at the camp, the students disappear with their puppets, leaving the Detective boys alone. Mitsuhiko assumes that their teacher is the serial arsonist. After they disappear, even Conan is caught too, only Mitsuhiko remains alone.

Conan notices that the objects conjoin in the center of room and realizes it refers to the chandelier. Conan matches the markings on the chandeliers which causes a stairway to the attic to appear. The Junior Detective League find a skeleton of an elderly man in the attic. Conan reveals that man was the one who created the code and was sending the mail to Agasa's aunt. Conan finds a 20 dollar plate used for creating counterfeit money and explains that the man was hiding from the person who forced him to create plates. The culprit reveals himself and says that he had been searching the mansion for the plate for many years and attempts to steal it from them. Conan however apprehends the criminal and he is arrested afterwards.

While they were investigating, there was a man who was lurking around the house. They found an attic and a dead man who become a skeleton. There's also a map beside his body.

Scenario: Agasa takes the Junior Detective League to his uncles house which has been abandoned fifty years ago for a treasure hunt he had set up. Conan finds a 1 yen coin and reveals to Agasa that those coins were not produced until forty years ago and that someone had been living in the abandoned house. Conan investigates and finds evidence that an old man who spent his spare time carving coins lived in the house. Conan notices that someone has drawn strange codes on objects throughout the house. The codes are symbols consisting of the moon, star, and sun. The Junior Detective League manage to find their treasure and realize that someone had destroyed them all. Conan deduces that an unknown culprit entered the house in search of some kind of treasure and was angered when Agasa's riddles lead him to a box of toys. Conan and the Junior Detective League gather all the objects in the house with the strange codes on them and attempts to solve it. Agasa reveals that his aunt was receiving letters in the same code and that he had Booker Kudo decipher the message; He also reveals that when his aunt began receiving those letters, someone was looking through her mail. Conan realizes the symbols refer to Hiragana and that the culprit who was looking through Agasa's aunt's mail is the one who destroyed the toys and is searching for the treasure in the house.

Scenario: Agasa wins a trip to a beach resort and gives the tickets to Kogoro, Ran, and the Junior Detective League. On the plane, Ran falls asleep and dreams about a murder that occurred on an Airliner. In the past, a photographer named Kazuhiro Ootaka is found dead in the bathroom. Shinichi reveals that Ootaka was put to sleep and was killed by having a thin metal object dipped in poison and having it injected into the back of his head. Megure gathers four people who have entered the bathroom during that time and search them for a weapon but to no avail. After a thorough investigation, Shinichi reveals Tsugumi Amano, Ootaka's girlfriend to be the murderer. Shinichi reveals that Amano used a sharpened brassiere wire to commit the murder. Amano confesses and reveals that Ootaka set a building on fire for pictures which inadvertently caused her brother's death.

Photographer Kazuhiro Otaka was found dead in the plane's lavatory with an unusual scratch on his neck and a puncture wound just below his hairline.

In Tokyo International Airport, Conan and the group are going to take a trip to Okinawa by taking a passenger plane. When Ran takes the glasses off Conan, who was sound asleep, she smiled, as it reminded her of Shinichi sleeping. Ran falls asleep as well and dreams about going to Los Angeles with Shinichi.

On the way to Los Angeles, a company employee named Tsuneo Ukai is telling the photographer named Kazuhiro Otaka to not smoke. Otaka said sorry to Ukai and spits smoke at him. Next to him is another photographer named Tsugumi Amano, also his girlfriend, tells him to cut it out. Otaka then tells Amano to lighten up because he will be rich by selling the negatives to the newspaper office. Another photographer named Chizuru Tachikawa questions if the negatives are real or not. She also mentions that the congressman from America might have come to Japan to spread rumors. It would be embarrassing if they caught a wrong person by taking a picture. Otaka tells them that he already sent two pictures and they confirmed it's the right person. After the conversation, Otaka sees Saginuma, another photographer, sleeping. Another man who's in front of Otaka is the freelance journalist, Edward Crowe and he's just looking at Otaka.

Amano asked the stewardess to bring her medicine because she felt sick. Ukai stood up and walked around as he isn't comfortable sitting in a plane. Meanwhile, Amano is still feeling sicker and Tachikawa then switches seat with her. They notice that Otaka is missing from his seat.

Later, a drunk passenger is knocking on the restroom door for telling the person who's using the restroom to hurry up. The stewardess unlocks the door and finds the dead body of Kazuhiro Otaka.

Ran heard people saying they found a dead body in the restroom. Ran is about to tell the person next to her that something horrible happened but he's gone. Inspector Megure who happened to be onboard was taken to the crime scene, suddenly, a strange boy deduces that the cause of death is probably nerve damage. The weapon is pointed but has no blade, like a ice pick. Before he was killed, someone made him take something that put him to sleep. Inspector Megure angrily asks who he is and the strange boy reveals himself as, "Kudo Shinichi". Megure remembers Yusaku Kudo who was his friend but hardly recognizes Shinichi. He is happy to see him but angrily got him out of the crime scene because it is an official police investigation. Then, Megure asks the stewardess that if he could borrow the camera from someone to take a picture. The stewardess said that Shinichi already took the pictures and already returned the camera. Shinichi deduces that from the appearance of the corpse, and the hardening of the chin, he has been dead for around an hour or two. There are three things that Shinichi cannot understand: First, there are some bloodstains on the wall, but there are no stains on the back of victim's clothes. Second, to the right of the death causing injury, there is a scratch. Third is the corpse's left side pocket. The inside is soaking wet, but the victim's hand is dry. Megure makes Shinichi leave. Takagi had now arrived at the scene and starts investigating. The official verdict was the exact same as what Shinichi dedeuced. Takagi wonders of who he is and Megure explains that he is Yusaku's son. He told Takagi that in the past, whenever he gets stuck on cases, Yusaku always solved for him. He remembered Shinichi as a little kid who used to follow his father to the crime scenes. He was so good at analyzing the crime scenes. Takagi became really impressed and wonders if they could ask for his help, Megure calls Takagi an idiot because he doesn't want any help from an amateur.

Next, Megure and Takagi decided to find some eyewitnesses but of course Shinichi interrupts again that he's the only witness who saw everything. He thinks it's four suspects. The ones that went to the bathroom, besides the victim. He doesn't remember how long each one took, but he can recognize them. Since his seat is in the back, he was watching them the whole time.

The four suspect are, the two women next to the victim's empty seat, Tsugumi Amano and Chizuru Tachikawa. The man sitting next to the aisle, Tsuneo Ukai and the man named Edward Crowe in the front.

Tachikawa wonders why would he would be murdered. Megure is about to explain but Ukai mentions that it's because of the negatives. He would sell them to the newspapers for a lot of money. But there were no negatives in Otaka's possession. Saginuma asks if that he was murdered with a sharp object jabbed into his neck. Megure confirms that is correct which means this culprit was professional. But anyone with enough medical knowledge, as well as the right weapon, all of them including Saginuma could have done it.

Amano said that she wasn't feeling well, so she went to the restroom to throw up. When she came back, Otaka was still in his seat. After that, she asked the flight attendant for air sickness medication. Shortly after, Ukai left to go the restroom, which took about five minutes. Megure said that he should have been sitting next to the victim, with the aisle in between. Ukai said he was uncomfortable, so he walked around for a bit. When the flight attendant came back with the medicine and water, Otaka already left his seat. It took less than a minute. Tachikawa went to the bathroom too, after Tsugumi had taken the medicine. It had been about twenty minutes. Since Otaka hadn't come back yet, she went to check on him. At that time, he was still alive. She knocked and asked, "Is anything wrong?" He answered back by knocking. Next for Edward, Shinichi asks him when did he go to the toilet. Unfortunately, he doesn't remember when he did. Saginuma wonders how long is the police going to keep up with the pointless questioning. The one who has the weapon is the culprit so he thinks the police should search the other four because he said as for him, he was asleep the entire time. Ukai calls Saginuma a liar because he knows that he left his seat that's behind Otaka's. Saginuma got confused and Megure asks what is he saying. Ukai said that Otaka was in his seat before he left the restroom. At that time, Saginuma wasn't in his seat. Saginuma asks Ukai that what is he talking about because he was so sure that he was asleep the entire time. He also said that the other four had gone to the restroom and points at Shinichi that he saw it too. Since all five of them are suspects, the police are going to conduct a body search and inspect their luggages.

Later, the police couldn't find a murder weapon even by searching the five people's bodies and luggages. They decided to search the victim's belongings as nothing suspicious was found on the suspects.

Takagi opens the overhead bin door and asks Amano which luggage is Otaka's. Amano points to the bag so she reaches to get it with her right arm but suddenly stops. Amano remembers that Otaka said something strange. About a week ago, he left his bag in the photo studio. The next day, he found the bag had been cut up with a knife. So it's the new bag that Otaka brought currently and Amano reaches to get it with her left arm. In Otaka's bag, there's nothing that could be the murder weapon. After seeing his passport, Takagi remembers that three years ago, Kazuhiro Otaka won the newspaper's big journalistic photography contest. The picture he won was about the mother handing her baby to the fireman during a big apartment fire.

Meanwhile, Ukai is still accusing Saginuma that he's the culprit. He knows that Saginuma is lying about sleeping the whole time. He saw it when Amano was taking medication, Saginuma wasn't in his seat. Megure asks where was Saginuma at that time. The stewardess doesn't think he was in his seat. Saginuma asks the other flight attendant if he was asleep in his seat but unfortunately, she can't remember. When Shinichi asks something to the stewardess by whispering, she said yes. Shinichi had finally figured out who the culprit is. He then asks Ran something that's inappropriate and Ran confirms his suspicions. Shinichi finally found the weapon that the culprit used to killed the victim.

Scenario: Kogoro, Ran, and Conan are at a fancy traditional Japanese restaurant where food is delivered on a small computer controlled boat that navigates over a running stream around the restaurant. Later, a murder occurs and Conan realizes the only way it could have been possible was for a person to be alone, and to use the stream to access the room. Conan later reveals that the murderer hid in the boats and came out to murder the victim. The culprit explained how he was blackmailed by the victim who demanded a large payment from him.

Kaneda was found stabbed to death in room #8 of Riyu Stream Restaurant, by Anzai when she went to check on him.

Kogoro, Ran, and Conan are waiting for their reservation at Riyu Stream Restaurant, a highly popular traditional Japanese restaurant. While Kogoro is frustrated of waiting and being hungry, Conan looks around and sees computer controlled, miniature boats carrying food along a waterway. Anzai, the restaurant cashier, tells Conan that after the boats reach the guests' rooms, they push a button and the boat returns automatically. Kaneda and Arai, faculty of Joumon University, enter the restaurant to celebrate Kaneda’s new employment as assistant professor of physics. Anzai knows that a person called Kaneda reserved room #8, which Kaneda denies after Arai asks him about it. Their professor, Iwama, comes out to meet them and remarks on how late they are. Arai wants Kaneda to apologize for delaying them since Iwama planned this event. Kaneda brushes this off rudely and Arai is offended, to which Kaneda tells Arai to address him formally: as assistant professor. They leave for the room Iwama made the reservation in, which is room #3, after Kaneda orders the most expensive thing on the menu: blowfish milt. Conan, Ran, and Kogoro go to room #2 when the time for their reservation comes and Conan notices Kaneda leaving room #3. During their meal, Kogoro enjoys his wine and Conan is pleased with the food, but the dinner is interrupted when they hear a woman scream. They rush to the scene to see Anzai terrified by Kaneda's body with a knife in his chest.

Right before the police detective was going to call it a suicide case, Conan stuns Kogoro and reveals the method in which the murder was committed, followed by the key piece of evidence to prove who the murderer was. Conan discovers the trick used to commit the 'divine judgement' murder.

Hideaki Oda, the president of ODA Company was found hanging from the roof of the pagoda the morning after meeting Kogoro, Ran, and Conan, as described by the Legend of the Pagoda.

Scenario: Kogoro, Ran, and Conan are visitors at the 5 story pagoda. After running into the manager, they are invited out to dinner as guest of the temple on him, thanks to the Great Detective Moore. The morning after hearing the legend of 5 story pagoda, the manager (who was planning on turning it into a tourist attraction) turns up dead, hanging from the top floor, in a fashion mimicking the legend. Suspicions point to suicide as the means of death. Conan spots the manager's tie clip at the end of the episode and knows it was murder, and only one of four people could be responsible.

Kogoro, Ran, and Conan win a sightseeing trip after Conan solved puzzles for a contest that Ran submitted. While there, Kogoro starts to smoke and is interrupted by Okabe, a laborer of the temple. Ran impresses Okabe with her appreciative comments and is invited, along with Kogoro and Conan, to see the temple. Okabe tells them the legend of the pagoda, where those who have been bad or have evil souls are mysteriously punished by being found hanging from the top of the pagoda. The tour is interrupted by an angry Tan Kai, who Okabe explains is upset because the ODA Company had deceived him into stealing his pagoda to tear it down and build an amusement park in its place. In the evening, Conan, Kogoro, and Ran are invited by Oda to dinner since they are staying at Oda's Hotel and because of Kogoro's famous reputation. Kajimura is there as well, and introduces himself before he is made to leave for Tokyo for business. Shun Kai, Tan Kai's son, visits Oda during their dinner and tells Oda he won't give up getting the pagoda back for his father. The next morning, Okabe wakes everyone up and takes them to the temple again, where Oda is found hanging from the roof as the legend foretold.

After all three are presented as possible suspects Conan notices a couple of clues, there is a mark on her ear and a line on her arm. Before long Conan stuns Kogoro and reveals who did it and the evidence used to prove their guilt.

Makoto was found in his bathroom, with his slit wrist in a bathtub of blood. It seems like a suicide, but Mitsue insists that her grandson didn't kill himself.

How could this have happened? Rather than use detective Moore for the case, Conan solves this one as himself.
