Scenario: The episode begins with Mouri Kogoro, Ran, and Conan watching the ending of an old movie starring retired actress Misuzu Shirakawa at the actress's home. As the trio tour the home with the actress, her three children, and the maid, they are surprised to witness consistent quarreling in the household with Misuzu Shirakawa being the unpleasant one. As the afternoon draws close, the actress retires to her bedroom for an afternoon nap, a car accident occurs outside, and then smoke emerges from the bedroom.

While everyone was outside helping get the car out of the pond, Misuzu's room caught fire.

Scenario: The police, Kogoro, Conan, Masumi, Terafumi, Toshihide, and Wataru are in the surveillance room, where they see Shoutoku enter the storeroom last night at 9:05. In the camera film, the next person that enters the room is the producer Toshihide Taruoka, who states he was checking to see if the chest arrived; after all, he is fully responsible if the its contents are leaked out. According to him, he was in that room for 30 minutes because he was searching for the chest. At 10:20, Wataru Furuya and two other AD's arrive in front of the storeroom. Wataru says he was in there for quite a while because he was smoking while checking his text messages after he quickly checked the chest. At 10:54, he came out of the room. After that, Terafumi Kasuga entered the storeroom and was in there for about half an hour to check the TV station's lock and take photos to show Shoutoku. He tells the police the chest was fully locked and so he went home after that. Nobody went in the storeroom the next day before the staff members took the chest, so those three people are the only ones that have a chance to commit the murder.

As the police continue investigating, Kogoro, Masumi, and Conan head back to the stage to try to solve the murder case; to do that, they need to figure out how the culprit even unlocked the chest in the first place. There are blood traces inside the chest, so Shoutoku was killed when the chest was open. The culprit is the one who opened it because the cuisine critic would not want anyone else besides Terafumi to know what is inside the chest. Kogoro wonders why there are so many apples in the chest when the contestants will not be using more than ten during the show. Sonoko and Ran come to the stage to tell them why. First of all, a full chest is visually appealing to the audience. Secondly, the extra fruits will be given to the gallery via lottery. In fact, the chest has a false bottom so that it will not be too heavy. The fruits inside the chest are rare, so many people apply to the gallery just to try to win those fruits. Kogoro tells them there is a bigger mystery than that: he wonders why Okino Yoko's hair, which was in her last live broadcast, suddenly became so long. Ran and Sonoko tell them it is because she used a hair extension; upon hearing this, Conan figures out who the culprit is.

Masumi figures out too, and when she asked Conan if their thinking the same thing, he sees her left canine tooth as she smiles, confirming to himself he has seen her before. As the officers prepare to take the chest to conduct a thorough inspection, Conan asks them if those are all the apples in the chest. Even though the chest was supposed to completely full, there is a huge gap in the middle of the apples; however, the officers answer yes. Conan and Masumi found the evidence they need and run out the gallery. As Ran sees Masumi dash away, she thinks of waves; somehow, she can hear the sound of small waves when she sees Masumi running from behind, as if a spell was activated on her.

Conan and Masumi arrive at the storage room and ask Detective Takagi if the police found anything in the storeroom. He tells them when the police came to inspect the room, an AD was scolded because a kitchen prop that was to be used for the show was not properly washed. They tell him to bring the police and the suspects here for their magic show, which in fact is them explaining the truth behind the murder.

Conan and Sera works together to solve the mystery.

Scenario: A murdered man found dead in the chest of fruits.

One night at Mouri Detective Agency, while Kogoro is reading about horse racing on a newspaper, Ran, Sonoko, and Conan are watching "Which Sweets Show", a television program where two chefs compete to see who makes better sweets. Today, the defending champion, Shuuhei Kurimura, wins again, making him the winner for six weeks in a row. Thanks to Sonoko's father's connections, Ran, Sonoko, and Conan can watch the preview from the show's gallery next week. Sonoko, who needs to invite five people, baits Kogoro, who she needs to escort them, to come as well, by stating Yoko Okino will be one of the judges for next week's program. She is stuck on the last person to invite, and Ran's mother, Eri, cannot come because she has work.

The next day after school, Ran, Sonoko, and Conan ask Masumi if she wants to come to watch the program. In reality, Conan wants to invite her because he has something to ask her. As they talk about the TV show on their way home, Conan tells the girls he thinks Shuuhei is suspicious, since the champion always brought ingredients that suited the fruits chosen for the show. However, Ran and Sonoko tell him there is no way that pâtissier can cheat since the chest is always locked up before the show starts. Only the expert who packs the fruits in knows what is inside, so the TV staff has no chance to peek into it.

On the night before the show, Shoutoku Takeki arrives at Terafumi Kasuga's house. Terafumi tells Shoutoku the he already filled the chest up with the fruits that are to be used tomorrow. Shoutoku inspects the lock on the chest, is convinced it is secure, and made sure no one saw Terafumi fill the chest. At Nichiuri TV studio, the chest has arrived, so Toshihide Taruoka tells Wataru Furuya to lock that chest up and send it back to Shoutoku.

The day of the "Which Sweets Show" has arrived. Ran, Sonoko, Conan, Kogoro, and Masumi are already seated when suddenly Wataru Furuya asks Kogoro to go to the backstage. The recording of the TV show begins, and it turns out Yoko Okino and Kogoro Mouri, who is replacing Shoutoku Takeki because he is missing, are going to be the judges for this week's program. The contestants this week are Shuuhei Kurimara and Kurea Enokido. After Toshihide opens the lock of the chest of the key, the MC, Osamu Kenzaki, opens it to reveal the fruits. Ran tells Masumi, who thinks the lock can be forced open by anyone, that the lock has an electronic chip embedded, so a buzzer will ring if the wrong key is put in. Also, the lock is custom-made and the key to the lock is difficult to duplicate. Conan is about to quietly ask Masumi a question when suddenly the audience begins freaking out. The two of them are interrupted and they turn their heads toward the chest, only to see Shoutoku Takeki lying inside a pile of apples!

Conan and Masumi rush down from their seats to inspect the body. Shoutoku is already dead for more than half a day. After the audience is escorted to a separate room, the police come to investigate. Detective Takagi asks Producer Taruoka about chest-locking process, which was devised by Shoutoku Takeki himself. First, Terafumi Kasuga secretly fills the chest with fruits and locks it up. After that, the chest is sent to Nichiuri TV, where the producer asks his AD, Wataru Furuya, to put another lock on the chest before delivering it back to Terafumi. The food coordinator unlocks his own lock and then sends the chest back to the TV station. At the beginning of the show, the MC receives the key, which is stored in a safe at Touto Bank before the show, from the producer, and the fruits inside the chest is revealed to the contestants and the audience. As the police investigate, Terafumi arrives as well. The food coordinator is at Nichiuri TV because Shoutoku called him here, stating he will catch and expose the culprit who secretly reveals the contents of the fruit chest during the show. Shoutoku is probably doing this because the defending champion of the show won for six weeks in a row.

Suddenly, Detective Chiba tells everyone that Shoutoku Takeki mixed in with the extras of yesterday night's historical play and snuck into the TV station. Blending in was easy, since he always wore a kimono and the extras did too. Apparently he asked the play's director, an acquaintance of his, to lower his enemies' guard. This means he hid in the room where the chest was stored but got ambushed by the culprit.

Scenario: Conan, Ran, and Kogoro come across Nana lying on the ground in the park after nearly driving into a scooter blocking the road. On a dark night, the Mouri family, including Conan, were in Kogoro's car and heading home when they come across a scooter parked in the lane blocking the road. They investigate and find Nana's corpse lying on the park's ground with a rope around her neck.

Nana left behind a dying message that resembles the top part of the kanji for "left" (左) or "right" (右).

Scenario: Conan sends the cat with the message on the taxi receipt, but it gets blown away before Amuro can intercept it, but he chases after it and decodes it. Meanwhile, since there has been no help for quite long, Conan, deduceing that the final stop is Agasa's house, makes modifications on the receiver's address so that it reaches the Kudo house. Subaru interprets this and sends back another parcel with a phone in it via the delivery men. Before Conan can call the police, the delivery men catch them. By them, Amuro catches up and stops the delivery men from hurting the kids. But he denies having interpreted the message and says the receipt was blown away. He also declines when the kids invite him to Agase's house.

Although the Detective Boys have not been discovered by the delivery men, the cold begins to affect them, as Mitsuhiko even collapses from giving his sweater to Haibara. Conan uses a receipt to write a message and releases Taii from the truck with it stuck in its collar, hoping that Bourbon will find it and realize what is going on.

Scenario: As Conan, Haibara and The Detective Boys are playing football, they meet a cat which makes rounds around the Beika area. Following it, they get locked up in a delivery truck, within which they find a dead body. The delivery men talk about how it was an accidental death and they are making rounds and getting people to notice them to make up an alibi. As the kids realise that they cannot ask for help directly, Conan comes up with an idea.

Conan and the Detective Boys are playing soccer when they meet the calico cat, Taii, who frequently comes to Café Poirot for food. They follow the cat into a refrigerated delivery truck where the kids stumble on to a body in a box. The drivers killed the man and are doing their route to establish an alibi as the cold will alter the time of death.

Conan and the Detective Boys see a dead man in one of the Boxes of the refrigerated delivery truck and are stuck inside since the deliverymen closed the door.

After tracking him down, they make him lose the stuffed toy by spilling more similar toys and the police manage to catch him when he tries to take the money. He turns out to be Kouda. Ayumi manages to find the toy with the usb and when Inoue tries to take it, Haibara stops him. Sleeping Kogoro tells them all that it was actually Inoue who stole the secret data.

Scenario: Conan, Ran, The Detective Boys, Haibara and Kogoro go on a trip to Mt. Aso. They meet a boy called Justin and his mother there. Justin shows them his stamp collection book, where he has stamps from all the tourist attractions at Mt Aso. They later part. While they are on a break, we see a man leaving behind a bag on a bench, and another man picks it up and leaves behind a stuff toy. Ayumi tries to return the toy but is pushed away by the man. He is chased by the police and Conan. They see the man dashes into Justin, who is carrying a similar toy and the toys get exchanged. Everyone returns and we find that the man who left the bag is Monkichi Kumada, who owns Kumamon Foods. He says a thief stole important details regarding new sweet tastes which are un-patented and demanded 10 million. Another detective calls, Kouda, and informs them that the thief is caught but there was nothing in the stuffed toy. Conan explains that the toys got exchanged and tracks down Justin's location. As they are nearing Justin, they see the thief trying to snatch the toy from Justin's mother, and while trying to protect her, Justin is kidnapped by the thief. He threatens the police with Justin's life to not to follow him. Conan wonders how the thief got Justin's location so fast, when the only people, other than the original gang, present were the detectives, the president and another worker, Inoue.

In a dark room, a thief is frantically looking through an office for something. When he finds it, he smiles and cuts open a teddy bear.

The next day, the Detective Boys go to Kumamoto with Ran and Kogoro for a sightseeing trip. Kumamoto is known as the capital of water for its amazing water sources, but it's also known as the country of fire for its volcanoes. The group arrives at the Aso Volcano museum, where Ran bumps into a boy, named Justin Takamori. Ran calls Justin cute, and Justin calls Ran even cuter and winks at her. He then adds tat she is in second place as his mommy, Jessica Takamori is in first place. Justin then shows the kids his stamp book of all the tourists spots he has already been to so far.

Conan and the rest then go to the Aso Ropeway Station and ride in a carrier to the Nakadake crater. Once they are done, they leave the area and as they are heading to the zoo, Ayumi spots Kumamon, a stuffed bear, and wants to get one as a souvenir. Ran says later and as they leave with Conan, Justin and his mom buy the same stuff bear. After visiting the zoo, the group go to a food court area and eat. As they eat, a man, soon to be revealed as Monkichi Kumada, puts a bag on a bench and leaves. Then a mysterious man walks up with a Kumamon bear and swaps it with the bag. Ayumi sees this and believes that the man has forgotten the bear. So she runs to the man and tries to give it back, blowing the whole investigation that was taking place. The man sees the police and throws the bag at Ayumi, taking the bear as he runs.

Conan chases after the man with the police and witnesses Justin stepping in front of his mom and colliding with the man, causing the bear to fall. The man picks up a bear and runs away as the police chase after him. At the police station, Monkichi Kumada, the creator of the Kumamon bear explains that a robbery had occurred in his office and that an important item was taken away, a flash drive full of important information. He then tells Mouri that the thief phoned him and told him that he will exchange the flash drive with 10 million yen at the park. Then Keiji Kosugi is phoned and is told that the culprit at the park had been caught, but the flash drive have not been found. Conan then realizes that the bears must have been switched when Justin and the man collided with each other and deduces that they can find Justin at places where he can get stamps and figures out where he would not be and where his next location would be.

Namie Kajiyama, and the group then heads to Aso Shrine, not able to find Justin, but learns where his next location may be. According to the tour guide at the shrine, Justin said "I want to go and see the big pig falling asleep." Namie believes that Justin may be going to the Aso Milk Farm, but Conan deduces that he will not be there. He looks at Justin's route and says that he is actually going up and that by going to the farm he will be making a U-Turn. Also if he were to go to the farm, Justin will not arrive there in time as the farm closes at 4 P.M and that it is now 3:40. Conan deduces that Justin is at Daikanbo, as he did not say "the big pig", but actually "the big Buddha". The English word Buddha rhymes with the word in Japanese for pig (豚 buta), while the actual word in Japanese for Buddha is hotoke/futsu (仏). Namie trusts Conan and heads over there with him. When they arrive they witness the thief trying to take the bear away from Jessica. When Justin sees this he runs over and bites the criminal. Mouri and the rest try to intervene, but the thief kidnaps Justin and drove away.

Conan, Ran, Kogoro. and the Detective Boys were looking at different tourist area for a half-Japanese kid name Justin, who apparently took a piece of evidence when the thief accomplice bumped into him. When the thief try to take back the item, Justin interfered and got kidnapped, and is now being held as a hostage.

As the police with the Detective Boys, Ran and Mouri chase the criminal, they received a call that says that if they continue the boy will be killed. Thus prompting the police to stop and Conan to wonder "How did the criminal know Justin had the flash drive and where to find him?" and if someone is working with the thief. If so, who?

Scenario: While Ran, Sonoko and Conan go to a coffee shop after getting a popular concert ticket, another customer arrives with her friend and loses her ticket there. The next day, she comes back showing the same ticket auctioned off on the internet. While the three along with the manager, another employee and the customer go to the home of another employee who hadn't arrived to work, they find her dead. The house appears to have been robbed. Another tenant explains that she went to a convenience store after putting some clothes to wash in the machine. He observed this because it was emitting a different, loud noise. He also tells that there was a 5 minute pause in between. Conan, through a sleeping Sonoko, deduces that the employee is the murderer. She took the ticket but the aprons between them got exchanged. And while she was trying to get the apron out of the washing machine, the other employee returned. She accidentally causes her death and stages a robbery.

In a bar called "Marin Coffee", Sonoko tells Ran to be able to get two tickets for a concert. At the same moment, a girl becomes aware due to not having with her tickets for the same event and charges Sonoko of theft. The next day, the girl comes back in the room stating that her tickets were put on sale in internet and the nickname of the seller led her to think that tickets have been stolen by one of the waiters.

Conan, Ran, Sonoko, the workers from Marin Coffee, and Haruka Kona look for the missing Masako at her apartment to ask her about the platinum ticket online auction only to find her dead on her apartment floor.

Scenario: A mystery writer calls on Mouri Kogoro to investigate if there's anything going on between her husband and her assistant. Kogoro, Ran and Conan stay in a different house overnight and come morning, they find out all three people dead from poisoning. The husband dies first after eating poisoned sleeping pills. The assistant dies next after drinking poisoned tea. The writer dies last due to poisoned chocolate bars. Conan finds it odd that there is spilled water and two unopened chocolate bars in the garbage in the writer's room. Finally it is deduced that the writer initially planned to commit suicide by eating poisoned chocolate bars and stage it as a murder done by the husband and assistant, but after seeing that they are both dead, dies herself by eating the same chocolate bars by mistake.

A writer of Shizuoka invites Kogoro, Ran, and Conan to speak with the detective. During the evening, the woman asks Kogoro if he believes that her husband is cheating on her with her assistant. The next day, Kogoro finds the three people who died poisoned in their homes.

Scenario: While awaiting the police, more attempts to murder the museum curator occur. A fire breaks out and the group is locked inside one of the buildings. A woman wearing a mask resembling the conspiring ex-wife kills her two partners. The group manages to escape and calls the nurse over the internal phone to see if she and the curator are safe. The nurse reassures him, but then screams and hangs up. The group runs to the nurse's location and finds a scene with the nurse unconscious, the ex-wife stabbed to death, and the museum curator severely wounded. Inspectors conclude that the ex-wife tried to kill the curator, and that the nurse fought back in self-defense. Sleeping Kogoro reveals the nurse to be the true culprit. The curator survives thanks to Conan's earlier suggestion to wear armor under his clothes.

Jisaburou got injured after getting stabbed by the skewer in the pond.

Moyono Mibu is stabbed dead with the iron skewer in the pond.

Scenario: The episode begins with three Noh masks museum employees conspiring to murder the museum curator. Detective Mouri, Ran and Conan show up at the museum explaining that they received a letter warning them that the museum curator's life is in danger. They meet the museum curator, his personal nurse, and his businessman acquaintance in the garden. Soon a heavy pile of logs roll out of the shed and almost crush the group. Other "accidents" occur until the businessman is poisoned and dies.

Three people, Moyono Mibu, Seinosuke Nagata, and Tatsurou Seikanji, gather by a dim candle with masks to discuss a murder and the profits/inheritance afterwards. They decide to all attempt to murder a man, and whoever succeeds, receives 80% of the inheritance, while the other two receive 10% to remain silent about the murder.

On the other hand, Mouri receives a letter that asks for his assistance in preventing and warning Jisaburou Izumi's life is in danger. The letter has no signature, but Mouri takes on the case when Conan mentions Jisaburou Izumi is wealthy. The crew continue to Jisaburou Izumi's museum, only to witness and barely help Jisaburou Izumi escape a series of "accidents" setup by his three managers.

At the arrival of the mansion, it is reavealed that the butler submitted the request to Heiji's father. He requested a detective to be present at the inheritance ceremony.

Scenario: Hattori and Kazuha arrive at the Mouri agency with Osaka's, Inspector Otaki to inform Mouri and, specifically, Conan, of a suspicious case in Tokyo. The police had kept watch on all entrances to victim, Hidemichi Mizuki's apartment, only to find him hung with a limited edition chair knocked below his feet. Kazuha identifies this chair, and confirms that the chair's height is 10cm below where the victim's feet would be while hung.

After solving the first mystery, the crew begin to exit the apartment building. While waiting for the elevator, third floor resident, Nanami, overhears the detective's talk of Kaizou Fuura, a man who caused the victim to be in large debt, and comments on how her husband, too, suffered great losses due to Kaizou Fuura's influence of investing in the stock market. At that moment, Kaizou Fuura appears from the elevator window shooting himself.

Scenario: A man hit by the falling steel frame was dead. But Conan finds out that it wasn't supposed to be an accident but a murder. Kogoro, Ran, and Conan are walking down the street past several construction sites. One in particular used to be a bathhouse, and as they pass by, they hear a loud crash from the construction site.

Inomata was crushed underneath the falling steel pipes and died instantly. The bands that held the pipe has marks suggesting that they had been deliberately cut, so this is not an accident, but a murder. The murderer would have to climb the stack to cut the bands to kill the victim, but other than the victim, none of the three workers approached the scene of the crime. Kaneda's knife is found at the scene, making him the prime suspect. Conan has his doubts, and investigates to find out how it is possible to cause this fake accident. He engages the culprit along with Kogoro's voice.

Scenario: Agasa and the Detective boys are riding on a bus on a public holiday when, at exactly 2 p.m., they witness a man shoving another man off the roof of a nearby building. The bus starts before they can get out. When they get back at 2:20, an ambulance has just arrived, having been called by a pedestrian who almost was hit by the falling man. The man on the pavement is identified as Masaaki Ogata, a loan shark. Conan, Haibara, Professor Agasa, and the Detective Boys are riding on a bus on a public holiday when, at exactly 2 PM, they witness a man shoving another man off the roof of a nearby building. The bus starts before they can get out.

When they get back at 2:20, an ambulance has just arrived, having been called by a pedestrian who almost was hit by the falling man. The man on the pavement is identified as Masaaki Ogata, a loan shark. Scenario: While having a snack in a roadside café, Kogoro is called by Reiji Himuro, who seems envious of Kogoro's nice life and then says that at that moment, someone was to die because of Kogoro. At that time, Shingo Numao falls off a building, watched by a police officer who had been called there by an anonymous call. 

After Conan spots Himuro in a department store across the street, Kogoro runs there and up the stairs, where he is met by Himuro. Kogoro grabs Himuro at the lapels, which is photographed by customers. Both Himuro and Numao turn out to be bank robbers, with Numano having helped Kogoro apprehend Himuro who had been his boss.

During the interrogation, Himuro provokes Kogoro into attacking him, knowing that Kogoro gave him an alibi for the time Numao fell. Kogoro accuses Himuro of killing Numao, but since there is no evidence at all and Kogoro himself gives an alibi to Himuro, Himuro is let go. Inspector Megure admonishes Kogoro that the way he behaved would have landed Kogoro in jail if it had gone on, and the media and the internet have a field day.

Scenario: Ran, Sonoko, Kogoro, and Conan are at a tennis court when they find Tooru Amuro there. Later, Conan has a concussion from a flying racket and rests inside the racket's thrower's villa. Later, a man is killed inside the villa while Conan rests inside it. Conan deduces that it was a locked room murder as the body blocked entryway from the door and the windows were locked from the inside. Three suspects were named as Conan tries to figure out the mystery behind this locked room murder.

After the Bell Tree Express incident, Sonoko invites Ran, Kogoro, and Conan to a campsite where she is learning tennis, because she got a text from Makoto holding a tennis racket. Conan, glad to be leaving the Mouri Detective Agency after learning Amuro is Bourbon, finds out he is Sonoko's tennis teacher. Amuro tries to warn Conan that a racket is about to hit him, but it hits his head and knocks him unconscious. Amuro applies immediate first aid, and Conan recuperates at the cabin of Machi Umejima and her friend Kotone Momozono, the girl whose racket went flying and hit Conan. As Machi and Kotone treats Conan's party, there is an obvious animosity between Noboru Takanashi and Saburou Ishiguri, two other friends and classmates. It stems from the untimely death of their friend Uriu. When Conan wakes up, he finds the room overwhelmingly hot and Saburou dead from blunt force trauma to the head.

Scenario: Conan reveals the truth of the murder via tranquilizing Mouri Kogorou. He is assisted by Tooru Amuro helping with Mouri's deductions. Akai's true identity is revealed by Yukiko Kudo and Amuro introduces himself to Haibara for the first time, explaining that he is Bourbon. Ran is looking for Sera and Haibara as she doesn't know where they are, but neither does Kogorou. Bourbon and Haibara discuss Moroboshi Dai(Shuichi Akai) before Bourbon explains that he believes Shuichi Akai truly did die during the Clash of Red and Black. As Bourbon attempts to capture Sherry, a strange man resembling Akai is watching concealed by smoke from the bombs Vermouth planted. During the explosion, Sherry appears to die and Bourbon reports this to Vermouth. Gin is unconvinced, and following his explanation for why Vermouth is uncertain as well but doesn't know who she saw "die." Subaru is seen watching Vermouth and Bourbon discussing the matter before being shown to be Akai in disguise.

Scenario: Haibara receives a cryptic message from Vermouth before learning about the Silver Bullet project and taking the antidote to APTX4869 after running away from Subaru believing that he is Bourbon. Sera bumps into Akai again and her connection to him is revealed.

Conan is still investigating the case. He asks the suspects to be filmed while running. Masumi leaves the group, intending to take the recordings to the Detective Boys to ask them which looks most like the masked suspect they chased earlier. On the way, Amuro notices her from a room and contacts someone with his cellphone. Scar Akai then walks past the mysterious woman who had come with Subaru. The woman says something to Scar Akai as he passes which startles him. But before he can follow her, Masumi confronts him and asks, "Who are you?" Scar Akai smiles and tells Masumi, "you haven't changed a bit." and he reveals his face to her. Masumi, surprised and confused, responds with "Shu-nii". (nii is Japanese suffix to call an older brother). She questions Scar Akai, stating that she heard that Shuichi had died. Masumi and Scar Akai's confrontation ends abruptly when Scar Akai knocks Masumi unconscious with a taser. Scar Akai then replies that Masumi's response was the one he wanted to hear. Scenario: Conan and Sera realise the truth of the murder, and realise that despite appearances it couldn't be a suicide. During the investigation, Sera sees Shuichi Akai again but he doesn't appear to notice her.

Conan and Masumi explain the reason why Murobashi's case could not be a suicide. Conan then receives a message from an unknown sender and tells the Detective Boys to go back to their room with Ran, and shouts angrily when they don't comply. Haibara thinks about the "ominous feeling" inside her, as well as Conan's tense behavior, as she clinging to Ran and wonders what is going on. Immediately, Scar Akai walks past and glares at Haibara which frightens her. Tooru Amuro also appears right behind Scar Akai, and he explains to Ran how he got a train ticket from online bidding. This happens in the hallway, and the door nearest to the conversation is cracked open so that Subaru Okiya can watch them silently. Subaru is also accompanied by a woman resembling Vermouth with a hat pulled low over her face, who is seemingly busy with her cellphone. He says to her that, "Heaven is siding with us". Jirokichi Suzuki, who waits at Nagoya station, orders the train to head there without stopping, so he can capture the murderer himself. Without any other choice, Kogoro, Conan, and Masumi go to interrogate the passengers. Ran, Sonoko, Agasa, and the Detective Boys return to their room. Mitsuhiko brings up the subject of the woman who saved them from the fire in the last case. It is revealed that Mitsuhuko had sent a video recording of the woman to Kogoro, so Kogoro could find and thank her. Kogoro also thought of uploading the video to the internet. The woman is actually Shiho Miyano. This causes Haibara to panic and think her ominous feeling is due to Black Organzation members on the train. Jirokichi calls a meeting with the Nagoya Police directing them to restore his and their honor by capturing the murderer post haste. Gin and Vodka watch the pep rally from behind a column on the Nagoya platform. Gin receives an text from Vermouth that Sherry is indeed boarded the train. Conan receives another unknown message. When Masumi asks about and tries to look at the message, Conan quickly hides it and says he is just looking up the article on the past case that involves the victim and the passengers. Haibara also receives a message from an unknown address who claim to be Vermouth, asking, "Are you ready?" Haibara makes an excuse to go out. Ran notices her strange behavior and tries but fails to follow her. Alone, Haibara recalls the tape left by her mother, Elena Miyano, which talks about Haibara's parents starting a drug project that will require them to leave Shiho and Akemi behind, a project they call "Silver Bullet". Haibara then regrets that she misunderstood and that the drug was something that shouldn't have been made. She looks at the antidote to APTX 4869 that she is holding and decides to take it so that she can avoid involving those with her in the Black Organization's plot to capture or kill her. Before she can take it, Subaru confronts Haibara, commenting that he can predict the "sisters" without fail, and invites her to "enter our area". Haibara runs away from him instead, thinking she can't be killed while in a shrunken state.

Scenario: Vermouth, Gin, Vodka and Bourbon initiate a plan to eliminate Haibara aboard the Bell Tree Express. Meanwhile, an unrelated passenger is murdered under the guise of it being a performance.

Vermouth is on the phone with Gin. Vermouth passes on the information that Bourbon came across, which that Sherry was hiding in Gunma and was going to travel on the Bell Tree Express, a train own by Suzuki family which hosts a special mystery onboard. Vermouth recalls her encounter with Conan Edogawa and her promise to let Sherry go. She justifies the upcoming attack on Sherry as Bourbon's job and asks Gin not to interfere before the train reaches its destination.

At the Bell Tree Express, Conan, Ran, Sonoko, Professor Agasa, and the Detective Boys including Haibara prepare to board the train. Haibara still has a cold and has her cold mask on to hide her identity on the platform. The Detective Boys learn that the train usually runs only once a year, but this year will be different because Jirokichi Suzuki plans to run it a month later in another attempt to lure out Kaitou Kid. Sonoko also plans to place her love letter to Kid in the train car so he can receive it. Suddenly Masumi Sera shows up, and she says she is interested in the deduction quiz that will take place in the train. Haibara notices her and cover herself with her jacket's hood.

Next, the group witnesses the arrival of more passengers. Satoru Ando of 8C is the first to arrive, and he is traveling with a client's picture with a solid gold frame. Taisaku Noto (8A) and Mari Idenami (8E) show their familiarity with the conductor. Natsue Komino (8D), an old lady in a wheelchair, is accompanied by her maid Hiruka Sumitomo. And lastly, the angry Etsuto Murobashi appears (7B), and he accosts the conductor to demand his usual room in car 8. Kogoro (8B) introduces himself to the group after adjusting his mustache into the style of Hercule Poirot, explaining to him that his daughter, Ran, is a friend of the owner of the train, so he got a room on the luxury car. The passengers show shock reaction upon hearing his name.

In Agasa's room, 6B, Conan and the Detective Boys are chatting. Someone knocks on their door. They find a mystery card lying there, telling them they have received the role of detective that will investigate the murder which will occur in room 7B. The group (excluding Agasa) goes to 7B and witnesses a supposed murder incident. A masked man with hood shoots Etsuto Murobashi. They run after the murderer, but he gets away.

Later, they run into a train conductor, and learn that the quiz is suppose to happen an hour later. Conan, with a shocked expression, runs back to 7B only to found out that Ran, Sonoko, and Masumi are there instead, and to complicate thing further, Ran's group tell them they're in 8B. It seems that after the murder happened, Car 7 disappear into thin air.

Meanwhile, Haibara, who's slightly behind Conan group, follows them half-heartly, show a strong reaction when Scar Akai leaves one of the rooms. But Scar Akai, who is dressed in a formal outfit, does not notice her and walks in the opposite direction. Haibara catches a glimpse of him.

Conan tries to convince the train conductor that something was wrong with the mystery murder that took place to no avail, nevertheless, they learn more about the nature of the train. Passengers can ring a bell which turns on a light above their door to summon the carriage attendant who sits in the hall. Additionally, each car has no indication of its number inside, only from outside can one tell the car number, a feature added by Jirokichi Suzuki to make the train more mysterious. Meanwhile, Haibara recalls her encounter with Scar Akai a moment ago. She thinks he has the "feeling" of Dai Moroboshi but doesn't understand why he has a burn mark. Conan then recalls seeing Masumi holding a card when they first ran into Ran's cabin. They go back to 7B and confront the girls with the correct conclusion: everything happened in 7B all along and the girls had lied that the room was 8B. Ran's party received the role of accomplices (assigned by the card that Masumi held) They temporarily switched their room from 8B to 7B with Murobashi (who will wait in Ran's room, 8B) while the incident happened as part of the trick. As the Detective Boys followed Conan into the room, Masumi notices that Haibara is with the group, and she says she wants to have a word with Haibara as well. Haibara starts to look scared, but the conversation is cut short because Scar Akai had been lurking outside the door. Masumi demands to know who was there, but Scar Akai hides himself before Masumi sees him. After the trick is revealed, they return to Ran's original room, 8B, to inform Murobashi that their trick got exposed. They try to open the door, but it is chained shut and Murobashi is "sleeping" on the couch. Just then, Masumi and Conan notice the gunpowder smell and break the chain link to open the door. They found Etsuto Murobashi was killed in a sealed room!

Scenario: In the cabin, Ayumi suddenly passes out due to lack of oxygen. Suddenly, a woman appears with an axe and breaks the door down. Meanwhile, Conan and Sera discover the true meaning of the victim's dying message. She created a puppet shadow of a rabbit with her hands because she was a nursery teacher and is said as usagi. The culprit was a man named Usagi who was claustrophobic who accidentally killed her. He claims that although she knew that he was claustrophobic, she shut him inside a dark room. He panicked and accidentally struck her on the back while swinging the axe around. However, her really wanted him to overcome his claustrophobia because due to the fact that he was a photographer and used a film camera, he would not be able to develop the pictures himself inside a dark room. Afterwards, Conan and Sera race to the burning cabin only to discover that Ayumi, Genta, and Mitsuhiko were safe because of a "beautiful woman." Conan figures that the "beautiful woman" was Haibara who took the antidote of APTX4869 and wore the deceased woman's clothes in order to save everybody. She tells them a lie in order to hide the fact that she was Haibara, returned in here normal state. However, Mitsuhiko had secretly taken a video of her and sent it to the Detective Agency. There, a waiter at the café below the agency sees the video and so does Subaru Okiya, while drinking Bourbon whiskey.

Episode 699: The Shadow That Approaches Haibara's Secret (Part 1)

Scenario: Agasa takes the Detective Boys on a camping trip when they run into Masumi Sera who eventually joins their camping trip. While Genta, Mitsuhiko, Ayumi, and Haibara collect firewood, they encounter a man burying a female corpse. After being discovered by the killer and being chased by him, they find refuge in a cabin in the woods. While in the cabin, they discover that it was actually the crime scene of the murder. Meanwhile, Agasa, Conan, and Sera start to worry about them because their camping area happen to be out of cell-phone ranges. The Gunma police discover three suspicious men wandering alone in the forest claiming that they were innocent for the murder. While the Gunma police investigate the murder, they Detective Boys realize that they had been locked inside the cabin by the murderer while a fire is starting at the back of the cabin. Although the smoke has attracted the attention of Conan, Inspector Yamamura claims that it was only the smoke of a campfire started by youngsters in the forest for a party.

While at a camping trip, The Detective Boys are surprisingly greeted by Masumi Sera. While the Professor sets up camp and Conan chats with Masumi, Ayumi, Genta, Haibara, and Mitsuhiko venture into the woods and come across a person burying a body.

The woman was being buried by her killer when Ayumi, Mitsuhiko, Genta, and Haibara stumbled upon the cover-up. The culprit gives chase.

While the children run, Haibara alerts the police, and then they hide in a dark cabin, only to figure out it is where the culprit was earlier. To prevent them from talking, the culprit locks them in and sets the cabin blaze.

The culprit decides to silence the Detective Boys by locking them inside the cabin then set it on fire. Inspector Yamamura arrives to the scene of the body, and later has three suspects. The only clue is a dying message of her fingers being in an odd form behind her back.
