Episode 1074: The Boiled Fugu Mystery Tour Showdown (Mojiko & Kokura Part)

Scenario: Kogoro, Ran, and Conan visit Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture, with the introduction of Hiroki Oi, a lawyer they met in a preview case. The client is Makoto Izumiya, the fourth generation owner of a long-established puffer fish restaurant Izumiya, and his daughter Kaede. It is said that, when the store was at its busiest and no one was in the house, a burglar broke in and stole the heirloom pot. It's an expensive hot pot, but what's important to them is the soup stock that comes out of the hot pot's skin, which has been steeped in the umami flavor since the restaurant's founding. Conan and the others go to interview four suspect candidates narrowed down by the police.

There are four suspects: Yasushi Kobayashi, an employee at a restaurant who was arrested two years ago for robbing Izumiya restaurant; Shinichi Fujii, the owner of a restaurant chain who failed to buy Izumiya; Satoru Daiehara, the owner of a restaurant who knows about Izumiya's pot; and Keisuke Ban, a former employee at Izumiya who was fired. They start to investigate by going to visit each suspects and ask them questions, while also traveling in different places. At the night, Kogoro, Ran, and Conan visit an izakaya where they start their deductions, but when they exit the Izakaya, the robber is seen and chased by Ran, but before escaping, he attacks Kogoro with a bottle.

The police examine all of the security camera footage from Kyushu to Honshu on the day of the theft (e.g. Kanmon Tunnel, Mojiko Retro, Shin-Shimonoseki, and Shimonoseki station platforms), and none of the suspects appears in the camera footage. In addition to that all of them have perfect alibis, then what trick did the culprit use?

Over the past month, a series of murders have occurred in which three seemingly unrelated individuals - Atsumi Morita, an apparel manufacturer employee, Taiji Kiryu, a freelancer, and Tadatsugu Sugasawa, a baker - were found in a locked room. Yusaku is asked for advice by the Metropolitan Police Department, and he participates in Toto TV's "Emergency Live Broadcast! Serial Murder Case Completely Unraveled! Yusaku was scheduled to present his theory on Toto TV's "Emergency Live Broadcast! However, on the day of the event, Yusaku falls ill with food poisoning, and Yukiko, who was supposed to act as his substitute in disguise, also collapses. Conan, who had been invited to the event, opens the door of Kudo's house to refuse to appear on the live broadcast and standing there is Yusaku, who was supposed to be sleeping.

He is actually the Phantom Thief Kid, who is trying to pay back Yusaku for exonerating him from a false accusation. The reporter's purpose was to report on the exoneration of the Phantom Thief Kid from a certain case, so he asked if his visit to the Metropolitan Police Department was to confirm the exoneration. However, Yusaku came to the Metropolitan Police Department to give advice on another case. During the past month, there had been three cases of what appeared to be serial locked-room murders. However, all three victims were completely unconnected, and the methods of murder were different. So, Yusaku was asked for his opinion, "Is it the same crime?".

Yusaku, who does not know who the culprit is but has solved the mystery of the locked room, will appear in an episode of "Emergency Live Broadcast! Serial Locked Room Murder Case Completely Unraveled! on Toto TV on the weekend. On the day of the live broadcast, Yusaku gets food poisoning from something he ate at an Italian restaurant last night and falls asleep. Conan is summoned by Yukiko, who disguises herself as Yusaku, and uses a voice-over machine to voice her and present his theory.

After exiting the police headquarter and being interviewed by reporters, Yusaku Kudo reveals that he is going to do a live broadcast solving three locked room murders that took place on the last days, but 3 days later, on the day of the show, Yukiko Kudo tells Conan that Yusaku suddenly got food poisoning and has a stomachache, and that she will disguise as him, and with Conan's help, solve the case. Yukiko reveals details of the murders. The first victim named Atsumi Morita, an apparel company employee, was killed in the bathroom of her apartment after being pushed to the sink and hitting her head with it 20 days ago, the bathroom door was locked and the scene was ransacked, with various bathroom items on the floor. The one who found the body is Saiko Yumekawa, Atsumi's friend, who is known for conducting interviews using a pink mic. She is also the reporter coming for the live broadcast.

The second murder took place 10 days after the first murder. The victim, Taiji Kiryu, a permanent-part time worker, was stunned with a stun gun and later strangled with a rope in the entrance of his apartment. The scene was also a mess with garbage, bags and used ramen cups. It seems he fought back while being strangled and the culprit's skin got in his fingernails.

The third and last murder was done the next day after the second murder. This time, the victim Koretsugu Kanzawa, a baker, was stabbed on the abdomen with a knife in the kitchen of a house in Haido. Like the previous murders, the scene was also a mess with multiple kitchen objects on the floor, including the knife used as weapon.

Yusaku deduced that the three murders were locked rooms and that they were locked from inside. When Conan goes to Yukiko's room, it turns out Yukiko also feels bad and it's revealed that she got food poisoning too. But suddenly, Kaitou Kid (disguised as Yusaku) appears to "repay the favor" that Yusaku did by clearing accusations made against him. Scenario: Conan, Ayumi, Mitsuhiko, and Genta were at the apartment of a friend of Dr. Agasa's when they heard a scream on their way home. They rush to the scene to find a man and two women lying on the floor, bleeding from the head. The woman who owned the house, coming home from work, sensed something strange in the room and picked up a golf club for self-defense. No lights were on, and as she proceeded through the darkness, she heard a loud noise. The police confirm that it was as described in the statement and consider it an unfortunate accident. However, Conan has some concerns.

Mai Takigawa accidentally kills her boyfriend Yusuke Tsuda in self-defense after misunderstanding him as a burglar, but in reality, he along with Mai's best friend Riko Totsuka planned a surprise party for her birthday.

Takagi and Sato arrive at the scene to investigate, and also does Conan, who was at the apartment complex at the time and heard the scream along with Agasa and the Detective Boys. Conan and the police discover clues that make them think that there's more behind this case.
