Scenario: A man comes to Kogoro for him in locating his missing fiancée. Kogoro narrows down the list of suspects, but Conan believes that the case was too easy to resolve.

One afternoon, an old woman named Shigemi Terakado and the mover Ryuji Matsuo were planning to rid a young woman named Motoko Kawaguchi from existence. Their plan was to murder her and bury her in the mountains.

After that, a man named Haruki Toriumi hired Kogoro to investigate his missing fiancée, the aforementioned Motoko. Toriumi felt that she must have gotten in an incident, so Kogoro and Conan investigated.

Three nights ago, Motoko said that she suddenly decided to move and had movers to pick up her stuff. On the same night, she also suddenly decided to quit her job. Motoko suddenly disappeared from her home and workplace. Another young lady named Suda Kumi appeared and asked where Motoko was. She said that they ran into each other in the city at that evening, that Motoko was her usual self and said that she was going to meet up with Terakado.

Kogoro and Conan went and asked Terakado about Motoko, since Terakado owed Motoko much for looking after her. She said she hadn't seen Motoko for a month... But her neighbor, Mitsue Uno, said that Terakado met Motoko three days ago. She also said that Motoko was causing trouble to Terakado, via extorting her fir money. This made Kogoro and Conan believe that Terakado was lying and killed Motoko Kawaguchi with the help of Ryuji Matsuo, who moved her stuff.

Episode 816: Regrettable and Kind Alien

Scenario: Unemployed man Hanzaki Yasuo slips and falls to his death after he sees office worker Takedera Hitoshi wearing an alien costume. After questioning Takedera's three acquaintances who witnessed the incident, the Detective Boys investigate and close in on the truth.

One night, two office workers named Arisa Nakashima and Susan Trümpelmann are on their way home when they suddenly meet what appears to be an alien appearing at the lower end of a set of stairs leading down from an abandoned temple. The two women are frightened, but then the alien announces, "We are extraterrestrials" while tapping its throat, and asks them to take a picture of him and publicize it. Amused by this proposition, the two women cheerfully agree to this and pose for a picture and even a video clip with Nakashima's smartphone. Suddenly, they hear a man yelling in fear, "It's an alien!", and then the body of a man comes tumbling down the stairs from above. As it comes to rest at the bottom and the frightened women and their extraterrestrial friend gather around it, the "alien" reveals himself to be a costumed man.

After shouting "It's an alien!!!" in a panic, Hanzaki apparently missed one stair and then fell down, resulting in his death from blunt trauma and a broken neck.

The morning after that, the Detective Boys investigated the scene and begin to suspect the costumed man to be responsible for a prank gone wrong. However, they are met by a boy named Kota Matsumoto who claims that the incident was actually his fault: The culprit, Hitoshi Takedera, is an acquaintance of his, a kind office worker who plays with the children on his off-days at the children's center. Kota is a firm believer that aliens are mankind's friends. When a bully from his class claims otherwise, it apparently inspired Takedera to dress up as an alien and find witnesses to spread the benevolence "fact" in order to do his young friend a favor.

As the children contemplate Takedera's mishap, they witness Nakashima and Trümpelmann laying down flowers at the stair bottom and paying their respects to the deceased, Yasuo Hanzaki. When questioned about the accident, Nakashima produces her smartphone and shows them the video, which has by happenstance recorded the incident. The two women also confess that following Takedera's request of taking a picture of him, they had quickly realized that this must have been a prank and had played along just to humor him. The Detective Boys begin to reconstruct the details of the incident and realize that it may have actually been foul play since, considering the distance between the top and the bottom of the stairs, Hanzaki likely could not have recognized the costumed Takedera as an alien.

Deciding to investigate, the Detective Boys decide to question Hanzaki's next-door neighbour, Tsuneyuki Tamai. Tsuneyuki is able to tell them that Hanzaki was unemployed after having been laid off from his factory job, and was blackmailing someone, which makes the Detective Boys suspect that the blackmailee is very likely Hanzaki's murderer as well. Since Hanzaki habitually left his apartment door unlocked, the Detective Boys enter to look for clues, but all they find is an ashtray full of cigarette stubs, a lot of karaoke giveaway dolls, and a note from an ear, nose and throat clinic. But after some thinking, Tsuneyuki remembers a phone conversation between Hanzaki and his blackmail victim which suggests that Hanzaki was attempting to force him to give him his old job back. However, Hanzaki used to work for a mere subcontractor for the prestigious firm Sank Heavy Industries, which was not satisfyingly profitable.

Next, the Detective Boys meet Takedera, who has just left a police station after having been questioned. Takedera explains that he chose to adopt an alien disguise upon the suggestion of his old college friend, Akira Omi, who was a fellow member of his college's children literature club; the alien costume was part of a children's play he and Omi had concocted during their college days. But when he mentions that Omi requested him to be at a certain time and place to perform his act in front of witnesses, the Detective Boys instantly realize who the culprit is, but the possibility that Hanzaki would fall into a blind panic at the mere sight of an alien is factually next to nil. After Genta accidentally bumps his head on a lamp post with an advertisement sticker for an ear, nose and throat clinic, Conan at once realizes the decisive flaw the culprit has committed in the execution of his crime.

Scenario: Conan discovers that secret Kyona has discovered, but he doubts that it's something that was worth killing for, until he sees something else in the picture. He realize that the locked room hadn't been her intention at the beginning. The police are still baffled at the crime scene. Takagi and Megure decides to call their superintendent for orders, when the door bell rings. Megure sees through the peek hole that it's Professor Agasa standing outside, but when he opens the door, he finds Conan instead who tells them that they needs to come down to Saya's room below. While Megure is a bit doubtful, Takagi, who has been on the phone with the superintendent, says that they are being ordered to do as Conan says. In Saya's room, Conan uses Professor Agasa's voice to explain his deduction.

Scenario: Professor Agasa takes the Detective Boys to a cake buffet in a hotel, where they meet Saya Kitami and Kyona Shono, two rival actresses who are filming a drama. Kyona asks Saya if she's seen her blog and warns her that she should surrender if she doesn't want to have her secret exposed. Conan checks Kyona's blog but is unable to determine what the secret is. Later, Kyona is found murdered in her locked hotel room.

It started when Conan, Haibara, Professor Agasa, and the Detective Boys are in the hotel hall, winning a cake buffet in the game "spin the wheel". They meet Saya Kitami after the toy helicopter was put on Genta's cake, and a later while they meet Kyona Shono. The two famous actresses hate each other. They made a bet about the popularity of their blog: the one who will lose will have her hair shaved. Conan and the others leave the hotel after eating, but Conan notices that Sakurako Yonehara is asking for a key to Kyona's room, who she was supposed to wake up. After explaining to Conan that Kyona is not replying in her room, every one rushes in Kyona's room, and discovers her dead body on the floor.

One morning, while having breakfast at the Café Poirot along with Kogoro and Ran, Conan notices a strange, glum-looking customer sitting at a table, eating ham sandwiches instead of the regular breakfast selection and without having consulted the menu, which indicates him as a regular client. What makes the guest so peculiar is that he has his eyes constantly fixed on Tooru Amuro while he is working.

Scenario: Police Lt. Shoji Kano is found dead in his home. From the body's condition, Inspector Morofushi reasons that after being strangled, Kano was hung from the ceiling. Later, the culprit sends an e-mail declaring that he will kill three additional people. Sgt. Shinsuke Akiyama is called to Mt. Saijozan by the culprit and is murdered. Inspector Yamato's fingerprints are found on the rope that was wrapped around Kano's neck, so Section One Chief Kuroda puts out a BOLO for Yamato as the suspect.

Later on, while they are going to the mountains and investigating the cottage of the hideout cottage of the wanted robber. And they heard a car going forward and it was accelerated. While they are investigating the cottage, they heard the braking of the car and found a younger detective named Akiyama, who had been missing for a while much to Yui's worry. Akiyama was tied to a car in a hanging noose, then the car fell off from the cliff, decapitating the unfortunate Akiyama. The robber's corpse were found in that burning car.

After a while, Akiyama was found tied in car trunk shouting "My phone, my phone!!!". The car fell and he was decapitated in front of Yui, Morofushi, Saegusa and Kuroda. They think Yamato is the one who did the serial killing, as Bishamonten. So their boss Kuroda Hyoue told them that ti put BOLO on Yamato.

Scenario: Kogoro, Conan, and Ran are visiting Nagano Prefecture when they run into Inspector Yamato and his associates of the Nagano Prefectural Police. Conan and his friends visit the Kansuke Shrine ruins and Yamamoto Kansuke's grave. While visiting the Chikumagawa River, their final destination, Inspector Shigeru Takeda's severed head is found in the river. On the body's forehead is a mark resembling a woodpecker's footprint. Allegedly, a mysterious group known as the Woodpecker Society exists in the Nagano Prefectural Police. Yamato and his associates search for someone who may have borne a grudge against Takeda when two cases involving Takeda resurface.

He (victim) was meeting the suspect, he was killed when he apologized to the culprit.

While they are having their private conversation in Mt. Saijo. He apologizes to the culprit, that he musn't do it again, and he must live freely. But, the culprit made the opposite situation, what he did to him is he slashed him to his neck and died, also that head was used onto their crime to carry it all out. They made Kansuke Yamato as their culprit on this case, because he act strangely.

The police reflect on two cases involving the murdered Takeda, who was well known for his excessive method against the suspects of various cases.

In a one stormy night, While the police investigating the house of Aburakawa Tsuyako who was killed in that incident. Kano investigate the death of Tsuyako, when he found out that the identity of the culprit was found. Later, he was strangled to death. When he put him down. Fingerprints were found on Yamato and was found suspect on this case, and he never showed up after this case.

Either could be effeminate man, a long-haired man or an old man. The three policemen thought that they would meet at Hachiman Shrine. And then they heard a body who was found at the river. Uehara Yui said that it was called "Wooodpecker Society". Apparently in Nagano, there's a group named "Woodpecker Society".

Morofushi said that Takeda killed two suspects stood out. The case was happening nine years ago.

The story was a man on drugs was shooting a gun in the city, and the second happened 6 months ago, a man was holed up inside a bank with hostages. Takeda shot the two suspects in the head, splattering blood all over the suspect. And the suspect was a grandmother who was 80-year-old, and they say that she could never commit the crime.

Another case happened, Liutenant Kano Shoji was found hanged at a house. Their suspect was Kansuke Yamato who had gone missing. And then, message was found on Yamato's cellphone from Kano Shoji, typing "I am Bishamonten. The God of War who will destroy the woodpecker". Morofushi said that the cause of death was strangulation, said that he died half an hour ago. Kano's cellphone had a message saying "Only three woodpeckers remain." And the head of the body has the woodpeckers foot or X. Morofushi said that "there's a witness claiming they saw you at the bridge." Yamato said that he never been there. Morofushi suspect Yamato of killing two victims.

Scenario: Conan, Ran, Kogoro, Heiji and Kazuka visit an inn deep in the mountains of Nagano. Heiji acquires a photo of a figure carrying a scythe running across the surface of the inn's outdoor bath. Conan and his friends have come to investigate the identity of this figure who resembles a kamaitachi, a supernatural demon. At the inn they meet writers Daigo Nakama and Midori Koyanagi, who have come to gather information on the incident as well. While searching inside a dark storehouse, Heiji, Kogoro and Koyanagi are attacked.

It started when they are going to Kamaitachi Inn. Hattori asked Kogoro to investigate the Kamaitachi who've been lurking at the inn. The culprit's weapon is a scythe or a sickle. Hattori said that the Kamaitachi rides on whirlwinds and cuts people clean in half. And they were shocked except Kazuha, Conan and Hattori. The hot springs were at the outdoor's inn. The photo was taken by the same angle by the writer who published this photo and it was a man. And it was Nakama Daigo, writer for IZUNA's magazine. He was here to take photo of the Kamaitachi.

Midori Koyanagi said that the Kamaitachi never existed in the first place. And then the boy named Kohei Ono witness the running of the Kamaitachi and it was very fast. He tried to chase him, but he can't walk on water. He was almost drowned and couldn't move like a spell or a magic. When he woke up, he was lying down the hallway, soaking wet. The landlord. Riichi Tengan, a popular ventriloquist wants Kogoro to help himself from killing his wife Kazuko because he had always hallucinations that the doll he had wanted him to killed his wife. Few days later, the apprentice called Kogoro and tell that Kazuko was killed. Afterwards, Ran, Conan and Kogoro go to the house and found the wife lying on the sofa.

Inspector Megure confirms that the weapon used at the crime is the "trophy" and the only possible for the crime is the husband Riichi, because his fingerprints was found that the trophy but when Conan and Kogoro merely investigate, they found speakers on the different sides of the house and give it to Inspector Megure. When the forsenics tested it, Inspector Megure spilled out that the apprentice Haruomi had his fingerprints on the speakers, pointing him to be the suspect, but he denied that the speakers were gone missing last week. Later on, the police found out Haruomi's glasses with the victim's blood on it and he turned out to be the major suspect, but he denied and Inspector Megure said that its just a matter of time if he confessed. But Conan has that uneasy feeling that there's something wrong. Is Haruomi really the suspect?

Episode 804: Conan and Ebizō's Kabuki Jūhachiban Mystery (Part 1)

Scenario: This two episodes were aired in honor for 20th anniversary of the Detective Conan anime. A murder case with the world of kabuki, a famous Japanese theater in Tokyo, as its stage, and a deduction showdown between Ichikawa Ebizō XI, a real life famous kabuki theater actor, and Conan, after they find a dead body in a car.

One day, Conan, Mitsuhiko, and Genta were playing soccer while Ai and Ayumi were sitting at a bench, watching them run around. At one point, the ball hit Mitsuhiko in the face as he was trying to volley a pass from Conan and it flew towards the fences. As Conan went to pick up the ball, a car passed by, making its way down a hill. He and Ai noticed there were drops of brake fluid on the road and immediately realized that car was out of control. She tells him there is a railroad crossing up ahead and tosses his skateboard to him. As Conan skateboards down the hill to stop the car, she calls the police. At the crossing, Sonoko was in a pink Bentley Mulsanne using her phone when she heard that car honking. She turns around and sees Conan airborne with his skateboard, catching her by surprise. He manages to stop the car by wrapping his Anywhere Ball Dispensing Belt around a railing and shooting a soccer ball, which inflated and redirected the car toward a pile of cardboard boxes at Tohto Paper Recycling Plant.

Someone manipulated the brakes on his Black Mercedes Benz C300 Advantage W205 so that they would not work, causing the car to go out of control on its way downhill.

The police arrive at the plant and tell Takuya Hosoo, that car's driver, that someone messed with its brakes. Takuya tells them he knew that but he had no choice since he had to hurry; he even says he does not have time to take any questioning from them. Soon after, Kogoro and Ran arrive at the scene to scold Conan, not knowing that the kid saved Takuya, and Sonoko came soon after. They misunderstood Conan's intentions because Sonoko told them the kid caused the car to crash, since she saw the car crash right after Conan flew onto the road.

As Takuya was opening the trunk of his car to look at a briefcase, which he had to deliver to someone, he turned his head and recognized Sonoko as President Suzuki's daughter. It turns out they meet each other often during kabuki after-parties, since the president is a huge fan of kabuki. Conan and Ran bugged out when Sonoko told them she dined with the famous kabuki theater actor Ichikawa Ebizo XI a bunch of times. Takuya tells them Ebizo is a big fan of Kogoro.

Takuya, Kogoro, Ran, Sonoko, and Conan are on Hitoshi Takahashi's car, heading toward a kabuki theater Ebizo is currently at. On the way there, Takuya and Hitoshi discuss the incident from earlier. Hitoshi tells Takuya that he did not see anyone suspicious near the garage of Takuya's house last night. At the theater, they see Ebizo and some other people practicing "Nanatsu Men" of the Jūhachiban Kabuki. After some practice, everyone gathers around to see Ebizo open the briefcase Takuya gave to him; inside, there was a two-faced mask. As everyone gazes at it in awe, Conan notices something peculiar about it.

When the president was shocked about the two-faced mask is gone, it was found on Hitoshi's car, but the two-faced mask is gone, only the briefcase is there.

While the president is searching for the two-faced mask on early morning, it is now gone. While they are on Hoaji Hospital, Iwami almost commits suicide but Harumi Sakaguchi stops him.

He almost jumped by the hospital, but stopped by Ebizo.

Hitoshi Takahashi was found strangulated in his white Toyota Vellfire (second generation).

Scenario: Arsons have been occurring at different children's playgrounds. The Detective Boys, accompanied by firefighters, go on a fire safety patrol. A man is seen running past them toward the direction of a fire and Genta knows who he is. The Detective Boys try to find evidences to prove that the man is the arsonist.

One night, Conan, Haibara, and the Detective Boys are on fire safety patrol. Conan and Haibara discuss about the two arson cases that happened four and two days ago.This case happened 4 days ago. And two days, this incident happened.

Out of nowhere, everyone on patrol sees a man run toward the direction of a fire. They arrive at a park to see a jungle gym in flames and suspect that man is the arsonist. Genta tells everyone he knows that man.

The next day, the five children hide at an alley near a bento shop, waiting for that man, who, according to Genta, always buys an extra large seaweed lunch at that same shop, where he orders his eel lunches. Conan and Haibara are bothered by the fact that these three arson cases occurred at the same locations - at playgrounds - as the arson cases from last year. The ones from last year lasted for two weeks. The fourth arson case last year resulted in the death of a drunk office worker, who was sleeping while wrapped up in a construction tarp. After that, the cases stopped occurring until recently.

The man from yesterday arrives at the bento shop to order his usual seaweed lunch, and as he heads back home, the kids secretly follow him. They sit out on the streets, spying the man in his apartment for the whole day. At night, the man walks out of his house, and they quietly follow him again; unfortunately, they lost him because a train passed by and stopped them. Conan and Haibara decide to head the park where the fourth arson case from last year took place, since the next arson will most likely take place there, and the Detective Boys follow. At the park, they see a sheet draped over the slides on fire; meanwhile, an unknown person runs past the park.

The sheet is blown up into the air and is about to hit the Detective Boys when suddenly the man they spied on before tackles them, allowing them to barely avoid it. Because of this, the man lost sight of that person who just ran past the playground again, just like yesterday. For some reason, he seems to be paying attention to all of these recent arson cases. After some police investigation and questioning from Detective Takagi, everyone heads home.

The next day, the man heads out from his home, hoping to not see the kids again; unfortunately, they were waiting just outside. They all head to Sumire Park, the site of the first arson case, to investigate the chain of arson cases. This year, a side of a seesaw was burned. On a Beika Real Estate commercial sign, the kanji 戸 is circled in red.

And next the swing was burned on Sumire Park. Next, they head to Tsutsuji Park, the location of the second arson case. This year, an arched bridge was burned. On a sign post of a ramen restaurant, the character へ is circled in red as well.

Next is the monkey bars in Tsutsuji Park. Then, they arrive at Himawari Park, the place where the third arson case took place. Last year, a playground horse was burned. On a caution sign for pedestrians, the kanji 歩 is circled in red, too.

After some investigation in the park, the man takes them to an eel restaurant. As the Detective Boys enjoy their eel rice, the man tells them he will order some eel liver soup; however, Conan sees the order menu and a 10000 yen bill and realizes he lied and already left the restaurant. He runs outside, but the man is nowhere to be seen; the man baited the kids here so that he can split off with them. He heads to a factory that is closed today.

Meanwhile, Conan reads the news articles regarding the arson cases again and then immediately leads Haibara and the Detective Boys to the park where the fourth arson case took place. Conan and Haibara head to top of the apartment building near the park and see the character ニ circled in red on a sign labeled "Ninja Fortress". After seeing this, Conan figures out what is going on.

Conan saw the culprit holding a torch, and the building was full of oil. When he/she was supposed to throw the torch, Conan hit the torch and the abandoned bulding is safe.

After a bit of investigation, the three of them realize the truth behind the robbery.

Episode 801: Tottori Sand Dunes Mystery Tour (Kurayoshi Part)

Scenario: During a visit to the Tottori Sand Dunes, Kogoro, Conan and Ran come across a case. Shuko, wife of the Kumado family's eldest son, was attacked and tied up during a home invasion robbery, and the family's heirloom incense burner was stolen. A pedant found at the crime scene casts suspicion on the family's former housekeeper Naomi Senda, but Kogoro and his family saw her at the sand museum at the time of the crime. Later, head of the household Isao Kumado receives an e-mail on his phone demanding 10 million yen in exchange for the incense burner. Kogoro suspects the crime was committed by a family member who was trying to frame Naomi, so he investigates the Kumado family's alibis.

Kogoro takes Ran and Conan to Tottori prefecture to come up with a story for the first Super Mystery Award. He brings them to Tottori Sand Dunes, ties up Conan, and throws him down, because he wants to write a story of how a kid who is tied up and abandoned at the sand dunes escapes from danger; in other words, he is using Conan to find inspiration. However, since this place has numerous tourists, someone is definitely bound to save any kid in that situation. As a result, he gives up on that story and that award, and they go sightseeing instead.

The first place they visit is the sand museum. There, they see a woman with purple hair and purple lipstick ranting at an employee, as if she wanted to pick a fight with someone. After she storms out of the museum, they head in to enjoy the sand sculptures. They planned to eat some crabs at the Kanikkokan, but the kids occupied all the tables, so they went to Kurayoshi and toured around for the rest of the day.

Around late afternoon, they were walking when suddenly they see a police car drive by and stop in front of a house. The detectives in the police car are Ryo Okamoto and Katsuhiko Yamane, a person Kogoro worked with once on a robbery investigation back when he was a Tokyo Metropolitan Police detective. When Kogoro asks the police what is going on, they tell everyone someone reported a robbery. Detective Okamoto rings the doorbell of that house, but no one answers, so everyone sneaks into the house to investigate. Suddenly, they hear a baby crying, and when the police enter a room, they see a baby crying next to a woman with her hands and feet tied up in ropes! Conan notices a few shattered pieces of pottery on the floor of the room.

The woman, Shuko Kumado, was the one who reported the robbery to the police. She tells everyone she was knocked out, so she does not know what the robber looked like. Shuko turns her head and notices the incense burner, the priceless symbol of the family head, is missing. Conan looks underneath a couch and finds a pendant with a camel on it, which, according to her, was not there when she cleaned the house this morning.

After a while, the rest of the Kumado family members arrive home, and the head, Iwao Kumado, scolds Shuko for not being able to properly watch the house on her own, even when the door is locked. The woman explains to everyone that after she put the baby, Kazuma Kumado, to bed, at around 1 PM someone from nowhere used a china vase to hit her head and knock her unconscious. That person then stole the incense burner and tied her hands and feet up. When she came to her senses, the baby was crying right beside her, and at around 4 she took her cell phone out of her back pocket to call the police. Neither the front door nor the back door was forced open, meaning the culprit must be someone who has keys to the house.

Shuko tells everyone the pendant that Conan found below the couch belonged to Naomi Senda, a former housekeeper of the Kumado family. Yesterday, she came to this house from Tokyo asking for money, but Iwao rejected her request, since she ran off with their money when she quit. To Kogoro, Ran, and Conan's surprise, she was the woman who ranted at an employee during their tour in the sand museum earlier today. Naomi was at the museum at around 1:05, so there was no way for her to commit the robbery. As for the pendant, she claims to have dropped it when she visited the house yesterday and declares Shuko is lying about pendant not being there this morning.

The doorbell rings, and Soichi answers the phone and learns a delivery arrived. He says on the phone that he will pick it up, but Shuko immediately offers to take it and heads to the front door. It turns out the package is for Soichi. Naomi tells everyone she has been set up and declares she will make the family pay for this; as she leaves the house, Shuko mutters loudly that Naomi intends to kill her.

Soon after, the head of the family receives a phone call and a text message from "the Masked Leek", which is the thief. The message says the family must pay 100 million yen if they want the incense burner back, even though in reality it is worth 100 thousand. At this point, Kogoro suspects one of the family members is the robber, since only they know the burner's true value and significance to the family, so he asks every family member what they were doing at 1 PM.

The next day, Kogoro, Ran, and Conan head out to confirm the everyone's alibis. Yesterday, the family head went to Daigakuin Temple at around noon and chatted with other people for around half an hour. At 1:30, he visited the Akagawara Building 15 to provide advice on its merchandise. Makie Kumado was at Tottori Hanakairo Flower Park from 11 AM to 3 PM. Junji Kumado stayed at Kaike Hot Springs the night before yesterday, and after he checked out, he went to Yonago Tourism Center at around 3. There were no witnesses for any of them at 1, so they still had chances to steal the incense burner. Afterwards, they went to Jinjo no Yakata to confirm Soichi's alibi, and a man named Tanaka tells them he stopped by at 1 yesterday. However, when a woman reminds him they ate noodles together at 1, he had no choice but to tell them this morning Soichi asked him to create a fake alibi.

At sunset, the three of them return back to the Kumado's house. There, Shuko watches on TV news that Yasunobu Kotani, a doctor who died in South Africa in the beginning of the month, returns to Japan. He and she were high school classmates. Suddenly, the family head receives a phone call from Naomi, who tells Shuko she will get her revenge for framing her for the robbery. After that short call, Kogoro offers to be Shuko's bodyguard, but Shuko tells him there is no need since Naomi is probably just harassing her. Conan thinks Naomi is related to the robbery, as her alibi seems to be deliberately made.

The next morning, Shuko tells everyone that when she woke up, the incense burner was in front of the entryway. Somehow, the family got it back without having to pay the 100 million.

The police (Inspector Megure, Detective Sato, and some others), dressed in Cheetah Delivery uniforms, Kogoro, and Conan are at the Saekis' house, ready to carry out the plan to catch Reina's kidnapper. Before the housekeeper, Suzuko Tanaka, sets out to deliver 100 million yen of ransom to the kidnapper, Conan sneakily places a transmitter on the her sleeve.

At 9:30 AM, Suzuko drives out the garage and heads toward Beika Central Park, where she is to arrive at around 10 by herself, according to the kidnapper's request. Meanwhile, Detective Takagi and some other police officers, dressed up as ordinary people, are secretly observing the park in order to find any suspicious people. The police placed three transmitters - one in the bag containing ransom money, one on the car, and one in her brooch - in order to track down the kidnapper.

Suzuko arrives at the park and receives a phone call from the kidnapper, who tells her to dig in the left corner of a sandbox. There, she finds a map inside a plastic bag, with the site of the demolished car factory in Haido shaded. The kidnapper, afraid there may be transmitters involved, has another car and bag at that place and will tell her to switch cars and bags, rendering two of the police's transmitters useless. Inspector Megure tells other police officers to quickly head to that place to install more transmitters but tells them to stop after learning the car the kidnapper prepared is in open space.

After switching cars and bags at the demolished factory, she gets another phone call from the kidnapper, who instructs her to spend all the ransom money on ten diamonds, at the Matsubara jewelry store. The kidnapper bought those diamonds under President Saeki's name. At 10:45, she walks out of the store with Akira Matsubara after purchasing the diamonds; meanwhile, Detectives Takagi and Chiba are in a car, watching her quietly from behind. The kidnapper calls her again and tells her to drive slowly to Sakura Street and turn left at the first set of traffic lights. The police thinks she is going to Touto Central Station, but they were wrong. When she asks the kidnapper where she should go, the kidnapper tells her to throw her brooch away. That person suspected she was carrying some wire since she repeated all of the kidnapper's instructions and, with binoculars, figured out there was a transmitter in her brooch. Afterwards, Detectives Takagi and Chiba tell Inspector Megure, Detective Sato, and Kogoro that the kidnapper already prepared a bicycle and she rode it through an alley to escape them. The police have lost contact with her.

Meanwhile, Conan, with his skateboard and criminal tracking glasses (his transmitter is still on Suzuko's sleeve), pursuits the housekeeper, who is at a pier. He asks her where the diamonds are, and she tells him the kidnapper told her to find a bottle with a red ribbon, put the diamonds in it, and send it down the river. After she tells him there are ants all over the bottle, Conan figures out the entire kidnapping scheme. At sunset, Reina reunites with her family.

Episode 799: Detective Boys' Locked Room Mystery Battle

Scenario: When Professor Agasa unlocks the grounds of a building site for the Detective Boys to play soccer, he finds a body floating in a pool that's filled with water from last night's rain.

One morning, the Detective Boys are on their way to an abandoned building lot which Professor Agasa has managed to loan from a wealthy acquaintance, in order to practice their soccer skills for an upcoming school match. The lot is located next to an eight-story building, and was formerly the site of a mansion which is already torn down, with only a family-sized pool and a shed remaining. However, when they arrive at the lot, they find the grounds crowded by the police: A body has been found in the pool.

When Professor Agasa unlocks the grounds for the children, he finds the body floating in the pool, filled with water from last night's rain. While the cause of death is known, the questions as to how and why "Gecko" has come to rest inside the locked-down lot, and who might have murdered him, are yet to be found out.

Since the ground is a crime scene, the police has close it off until the case is solved. Megure jokely suggests that the detective boys should try solve this mystery, but the kids takes up the challenge.

Episode 798: The Moving Target

Scenario: A drunken man was saved by Conan when he fell from the top of a building, before the man hit the other person who is standing right below the place where the man fell. It seems the man committed suicide, but the evidence lead Conan to think that someone else caused the man to fall.

One night, Conan is racing to an appointment. Suddenly he hears a woman shrieking at the sight of someone falling off the top of a roof, directly down towards a man standing in a street at the building's side. Reacting quickly, Conan uses his Power Shoes and Ball Dispenser Belt to kick the falling man off his downward path, right into a nearby dumpster, where he makes a soft landing. However, the man is totally intoxicated and unconscious, so he remains completely unaware of what has happened to him. Due to the account of a witness, the man - by the name of Sadao Fukurokoji - evidently wanted to commit suicide because in his drunken state he had babbled out that things were not going according to his desires at his company.

The next morning, Conan takes his friends to the scene upon their insistence. To their surprise, they encounter a detachment of the Investigation Section One there, led by Megure and Takagi. Because of his involvement as an eye witness, Megure and Takagi confide in Conan that Fukurokoji's fall last night was apparently attempted murder, because Fukurokoji was far too drunk to undertake any actions on his own. Investigating the roof from which the man fell, Conan finds two sets of scrape marks on the roof's saftey railing, proving that someone must have carried him up and thrown him off the roof. But the marks suggest that the culprit must have switched position for the drop-down once, the reason for which remaining unknown, for the moment.

Fukurokoji was deliberately thrown off a roof to his death on the street below, to make it look like suicide. Fortunately, due to Conan's intervention, he survives with none worse the wear but a few scrapes from his landing and the after-effects of his drunkeness.

As Conan looks down to the street, he spots the man on whose head Fukurokoji had almost fallen last night. This man, a somewhat slow-witted and unlucky, but ever-cheerful office worker named Hitoshi Komatsu, is showing his friend and colleague, Daisuke Yukigaya, the place where he was nearly killed. After a brief introduction to Conan as a fellow witness, Yukigaya takes his leave, and Komatsu bashfully comments on wondering how a overly successful person like Yukigaya could ever like an eight ball like him. Then he mentions that he was waiting in his place because he was expecting to meet an anonymous woman who had sent him a love letter, asking him to wait for her at the building at that time. This statement immediatley rouses Conan's suspicion that the killer's intention was to kill both Fukurokoji and Komatsu, making it look like an accident; however, Komatsu can't think of anyone bearing a grudge against him.

The Detective Boys ask Komatsu to show them the love letter he received, which he is keeping in his appartment for the day. As the Detective Boys scoff at the idea that Komatsu would meet a stranger who wouldn't provide her name, Komatsu declares that he merely went there to tell the writer that he couldn't go out with her, since he already has a crush on someone. Another puzzling clue is that the letter's writer asked Komatsu to bring the letter with him for their meeting, considering that following the murder attempt it would be hard to retrieve it, since it would be a crucial piece of evidence that the matter was in fact foul play.

Since Komatsu has gone hungry, he invites the kids to a restaurant he likes to frequent. There, the Detective Boys meet Sakiko Nagai, a pretty and happy-to-go young waitress who is Komatsu's secret love interest. Incidentally, the restaurant is quite near Komatsu's working place and was also frequented by Yukigaya, though he has not come by for the last two weeks. While Komatsu has to go to the toilet, Nagai tells the children that Yukigaya had actually asked her out for a date the last time he was here, but she had turned him down because she wasn't drawn to his success personality traits. In the course of that conversation, the Detective Boys are also surprised to learn that Nagai has her own crush on Komatsu, making this matter (as Komatsu believes) not a one-sided affair.

This is all Conan needs to suspect Yukigaya as the would-be murderer. However, as Takagi and Chiba later tell the Detective Boys, Yukigaya has had no previous affiliation with Fukurokoji, making his murder in addition to Komatsu's appear a rather pointless undertaking. But then Conan figures out the culprit's true identity and his modus operandi, and asks all concerned, as well as Megure, Takagi and Chiba, to meet the Detective Boys for a discussion of the case.
