Scenario: Takagi solves the case and arrests the culprit when he tries to make a dash out of the police car. Takagi catches up and gives up on going to Simone in time to stop the marriage as the sun is almost set and the car is too far away. His party comes to cheer him on and he runs. Conan manages to stop the marriage in time with Tomoaki Araide's help. Takagi manages to reach the restaurant but the sun has completely sunk. He then sees Satou around the corner who tells him he told her an emergency case has come up. Takagi smiles as he enters the car. Meanwhile Shiratori leaves the restaurant, disappointed in his closed marriage. Conan comments how Takagi and Satou reminded him of Ran and himself.

There are three witnesses who each give different accounts of the robber. An old man who bumped into the robber said the robber was a woman in blue. A woman in a store said the robber was a man in green over 180 cm tall. A cafe owner wearing glasses said a person in black 170 cm tall.

Scenario: Satou is having an arranged marriage meeting with a man due to her mother's persistence. She arrives to find out it's Ninzaburo Shiratori. She proposes that if Takagi does not arrive to her before sunset, she will marry him whether she wants to or not. He accepts, but Takagi is busy with a store robbery. Three of the eye witnesses all give different descriptions and three culprits are kept in the back of the police car. Conan on the phone prepares to help Takagi solve the case as Kudo Shinichi.

Conan gives help using his gadget. The witnesses are an old man who accidentally bumped by the running suspect after Takagi run after him, teen girl who is a shopper at the store where the crime happens, and a restaurant owner who also notices the suspect running near his restaurant. The suspect is wearing a coat and helmet. After he robbed at the store, he runs very fast outside and escapes. Takagi follows him to a restroom where the coat and helmet are leave unattended but inside the restroom, there are three suspects. Which of them is the real one ?

With time running thin, the Detective Boys followed clues left behind Akio's drawings and Kenzo stated his grandson's habit of providing his signature on an object he found appealing. In response, Conan quickly run to the scene where Akio drew that object and his team followed, in all turn of events, Ayumi in now with the kidnapper. What will happen to her and Akio?

Scenario: Because of Kogoro's love of horses he takes Conan and Ran to an OK corral ranch. One of their prize winning horses gets spooked and they all go running after her. They reach the horse and Conan finds blood on her horseshoe. They then find the farrier; one who shoes the horses, murdered.

They find out that the farrier, had been meeting with a businessman who wanted to buy and ruin breeding any more horses that would save the ranch. Conan deduces that it wasn't an accident and that someone gave the horse chocolate which is a stimulant for horses. But it wasn't the cause for the death and was a cover-up for the real criminal. And that the murder weapon was the horseshoe that the person in haste put on wrong. The criminal confesses and had killed the farrier accidentally in self-defense.

Kogoro, Ran, and Conan visit a small house that is surrounded by a beautiful forest called the "Soothing Forest." There, they meet a group of people who sell things and use ledgers, led by a village head. While everyone is doing chores, the village head is found dead, and everyone has an alibi, but Conan solves the case.

Scenario: Conan figures out the culprit and decides to use Professor Agasa's voice to reveal the trick but remembers he forgot his voice changing bow tie at the hotel. Haibara arrives bringing with her Conan's bow tie. Conan tells Ayumi, Mitsuhiko and Genta to collect some things. After the three brought them, Conan, as Professor Agasa, reveals the trick the culprit used to kill the man. The victim, covered in fishnet, was placed in the shore where the culprit dug a hole fit for a man. He then placed a boat with sea water on top of the victim to serve as a weight so that when the victim wakes up he won't be able to escape when the tides rises up. The killer placed false evidence on the boat so that the police would think that the victim was placed inside the boat before letting him drown. The culprit then tells that he killed the man which was responsible for his father's death and that he only gathered all his courage to bestow divine punishment upon the man. Ran then tells the man that courage is a word that gives you the strength to do what's right and not to take someone else's life. Afterwards, Haibara comes up to Ran and introduces herself.

After investigating, Conan discovers the culprit was one of the owner's students studying to be an architect. The student killed the owner because the owner stole his work and was getting an award for it.

Mouri has been called to the Sunflower Estate by Ryuichiro Kanazawa, he is called to investigate a stalker who is watching each and every move of the architect. Then after having barbeque, they hear a gunshot they rush to his room and find him dead. Architect Ryuichiro Kanazawa was shot in the head by the murderer, trying to conceal the murder as being done by the victim's stalker from the outside. Was this really the work of the stalker? or is the culprit among the three people!

Scenario: After analyzing the clues and facts, Conan is convinced that the long-haired man and Tatsuo were murdered. He successfully finds the treasure and invites the culprit to the forest where Detective Yamamura arrives, revealing the killer to be Masao Jinbo. With Kogoro tranquilized, Conan reveals that Jinbo and the long-haired man were part of an embezzlement scam acquired them 50 billion yen. Due to the unnerved feeling of leaving the money in the forest, the man felt that Jinbo would try to kill him and take the money for himself; he left a post-death threatening message should an incident like that occurred. Jinbo indeed murdered his partner then placed evidence, found from another suicide case, to falsify his time of death. Jinbo hired Tatsuo after learning that the real Kogoro was getting involved, but murdered him as well as Tatsuo felt played and threatened to reveal the truth to the real authorities once he learned there was only a sumo magazine in the briefcase. As evidence, Jinbo's footprint matches the one found on the shogi board when he used it to hang Tatsuo and he knew Kogoro was the real deal when he handed Ran her phone which had her name on it. Jinbo surrenders and afterwards, Kogoro picks up girls who are his fans and gives them a ride in the car.

Scenario: Tatsuo Mori, a Mori Kogoro impersonator, arrives at the Aoiya Hotel near a creepy forest where he is invited to investigate a case where a long-haired man is said to have committed suicide 4-5 years ago. The real Kogoro, with Ran and Conan, is heading there as well and runs into Detective Yamamura who explains the case; the man who committed suicide was wearing a winter coat but died in the summer, had keys, but no driver's license, and cigarettes but no lighter. Kogoro says he was hired by Yoshiro Onda, the hotel's owner to search into the matter. After a brief investigation, they head to the inn where Kogoro bumps heads with his imposter and meets Eiji Urakawa and Masao Jinbo, who gives Ran her cell phone. He decides to play along and not reveal his identity. Later that night, Tatsuo is found hanging in his room.

A man named Tatsuo Mori uses his physical resemblance to Kogoro Mouri to impersonate him at a traditional hotel near a creepy forest (probably inspired by the real Aokigahara Forest), where he is invited to investigate a case where a man is said to have committed suicide four-five years ago. Kogoro goes there without knowing about the double. On the way the trio is picked up by Detective Yamamura. Yamamura tells them about a man who committed suicide four-five years ago. There were a lot of strange things about the body. It had car keys, but no drivers license, cigarettes, but no lighter, and it was wearing a red winter coat, despite that a recipe, proved that he died in summer. Kogoro explains that the inn owner has hired him to investigate a mystery. Five years ago a long-haired man wearing a red coat arrived and paid the owner to keep a letter and a briefcase for him for a year. The instructions were that if the long-haired man came back, he should give him the briefcase, if someone else comes, the owner shall give him the letter. The day after another man came and ask for the briefcase. The owner gave him the letter as told to, and the man became mad upon reading it, torn it to pieces and left and was never seen again. The owner pieced together the letter, on which were written in red 'I kill you with my curse'. When they all arrive, they learn of the double. Kogoro is first enraged, but then he decides to play along and not reveal his identity. Later that night, Tatsuo is found hanged in his room.

Episode 242: Boy Genta's Misfortune

Scenario: Genta has been acting weird at school lately. He is hiding under his futon at home, and doesn't eat his lunch instead of racing to finish first which is worrying his teacher Kobayashi. When he leaves school, Genta climbs over the wall and runs, like he is trying to lose someone. When the Detective Boys confront him, he tells them someone is trying to kill him. Earlier, he had heard the sound of someone's footsteps keeping pace with him in a tunnel. Later he was pushed off a bridge, and a burning car hurtled towards him. As he was telling the Detective Boys this, they reached a place outside a store where Genta likes to play a Yaiba Game machine. A large bolt falls nearby, barely alerting the Detective Boys in time to avoid part of the store's "BAKER" sign hurtling to the ground.

While Genta is talking, the Detective Boys got away from the falling letter.

Conan examines the support cable, and determines it had been deliberately cut and someone was indeed after Genta's life. They go to a burger restaurant and Genta reveals the man he thinks is trying to kill him is the purse snatcher the police are after. Genta had seen the man sometime earlier, before he was a wanted burglar, but had forgotten where it was. Genta does remember a golden haired man was with him when he saw the thief. Genta also explains that he went to a crime scene where the snatcher struck five days ago and saw his golden-haired witness in the crowd. He took the witness to the police and told them the story, but the witness denied seeing the thief. Genta later gets a mysterious phone call: "If you tell anyone that you saw me, I will kill you!! You, your family, and everybody that you know!"

Genta tries to recall where he saw the thief. He remembers the witness sitting beside him, but doesn't remember the thief sitting down. Genta was sleepy at the time. The things he remembers about the thief are that he was holding a cigarette in his left hand, meaning he is left handed. He was also wearing a tee-shirt with a skull and the numbers 202 in digital clock-like numerals. Genta notices one of the customers at the burger place has a similar tee-shirt, only with the numbers 1999 instead. Conan asks the man where he got his shirt, and the man tells him it is from the Bones clothing store. The Detective Boys run to find the place, but unfortunately the criminal had followed them into the restaurant and overheard everything.

At the shop, the salesperson explains that they sold a variety of shirts like that with different text such as "Escape", "Help", and "1999" because of the doomsday prediction in 2000, but none that say 202. The salesperson doesn't remember anyone unusual either. Genta does remember a few more details about the thief though. The thief was reading a newspaper, the place allowed smoking, and Genta never took his eyes off of him meaning it was a place where it wouldn't be unusual to watch someone without making them uncomfortable. From those clues, Conan realizes the answer. To avoid alerting the thief who is watching nearby, Conan whispers something to Genta.

And then, he apparently committed suicide but...

Scenario: As Heiji is investigating the rooms, Conan suddenly appears and talks to him about that all three sport celebrities are all innocent. Heiji and Conan find a mop in the closet of a hotel room and figure out what the trick was and Conan refuses to believe that it was possible. Conan runs out and finds the three athletes coming out of the bathroom. Conan goes into the bathroom and finds a needle in the trash. He then heard Ran, Kazuha, and Kogoro coming and Kogoro is talking to Ran and Kazuha about what he had overheard it in the restaurant about the meaning of "bandou". Kogoro also said that Ed McCay was fluent in Japanese and knew a lot about Japanese food. Conan finally figured it out who the culprit is. Conan finally confronts the culprit, Ray. Conan reveals that Ray used a soccer ball in order to turn on the lights on the 1st floor while killing the victim at the same time. Ray reveals that the victim created false rumors about him using drugs and destroyed his life. His wife committed suicide and that he only turned to drugs afterward to ease husband joint pain. Conan convinces Ray to turn himself in which involved the 2 having a conversation completely in English (in the subbed version). Conan is later shown to be sitting on the porch of Heiji's house depressed as one of his favorite soccer players Ray had been arrested. Ran remarks that Conan's expression is very similar to Shinichi's expression when he loses something he loves. Heiji cheers Conan up by trying to keep a soccer ball in the air by kicking. He fails which leads to Conan showing him the correct way to do it. Ran and Kazuha mention how they look like brothers.

Kogoro, Ran, and Kazuha are still at the party. Ran asks Kazuha where are Conan and Heiji and she told Ran that they are still investigating the case. Meanwhile, Heiji is still in the stairs investigating, trying to figure out who murdered Ed McCay. He checks the rooms and kept thinking. Conan suddenly appeared and talks to him about that all three sport celebrities are all innocent. Heiji and Conan found the mop in the hotel room. They figured out what the trick is and Conan couldn't believe it. Conan went out and found three sport celebrites going out of the restroom. Conan went to the restroom and found the needle from the trash. He heard Ran, Kazuha, and Kogoro coming. Kogoro is talking to Ran and Kazuha about what he had overheard it in the restaurant. He heard one of the employees saying that they understand what "bandou" means. Kogoro also said that Ed McCay was fluent in Japanese and knew a lot about Japanese food. Conan finally figured it out who the culprit is.

Episode 238: The 3 "K"s of Osaka Case (Part 1)

Scenario: Heiji invites Mouri, Ran, and Conan to a celebration of the opening of the 3K restaurant by three American celebrities, a heavyweight boxing champion named Ricardo Barreira, a Major League Baseball player named Mike Norwood, and the pro soccer player known named Ray Curtis who Conan admires. Kazuha is shown to be listening in on their phone call and suspects that Heiji is having an affair with some woman as he keeps whispering on the phone "Is now not a good time? I can call back later." and "Have you been caught yet?" During the party th announcer asks if anyone has any questions for the 3 athletes. Suddenly, the news reporter named Ed McCay who was invited asks that isn't Japan the home of many scandals, and mentions that K stands for "kitanai" meaning filth. During the party Ran asks the soccer player for his autograph for Shinichi in front of all the guests which in turn leads Heiji to tell Conan to try and call Ran once in a while as Shinichi. Ran also received an autographed shirt and a ticket to an exhibition match in Nagai that Ray will be playing in which she gives to Conan. In return the soccer player asks Ran to help the 3 of them create a 'K' above the restaurant using the lights of the rooms above the restaurant. While they are doing this a gunshot is heard and a window breaks on the second floor. Heiji and Conan run up to the room and find the dead body of Ed McCay. The reporter is shown to be holding on to his belt with his left hand and showing 3 fingers with his right hand. At the end Heiji is wondering why Shinichi is acting strangely since he is trying to defend the suspects instead of trying to find out the truth.

At the Detective Agency, Conan is on the phone talking to Heiji about a restaurant's opening party. Heiji invites Conan, Ran, and Kogoro to come to the party, saying that three famous athletes from America are also going to be there.

In Osaka at the K3 Restaurant, Kogoro is very excited to meet Mai Kuraki, Miho Komatsu, TWO-MIX, and his favorite idol, Yoko Okino.

The lights get turned off, and the announcer welcomes the three famous American athletes, treating them as special guests. The three athletes are a former heavyweight boxing champion, Ricardo Barreira. Next is the major leaguer who pitches 160 km, Mike Norwood. Lastly, the goalkeeper known as the "Iron Wall of Europe", the pro soccer player named Ray Curtis. When he was Shinichi, he used to be a huge fan of Ray Curtis, and he is very happy to see him in person. The announcer is now going to ask a few questions to the three athletes. First, the announcer asks why they chose Japan to open their restaurant. Ray answers that it's because Japan is like a second home to them. Ray's wife and Mike's wife are both Japanese and Ricardo just love ninjas and samurais. Next, the announcer asks does the "K" in the restaurant's name, "K3", mean "Kings". Ray answers it's wrong. The first is a Knockout, the K from KO in boxing. The next is a "Strikeout", represented by a K in baseball. The last is a "Goalkeeper", keeper starts with K in soccer. Suddenly, the news reporter named Ed McCay who was invited to the K3 Restaurant asks that isn't Japan the home of many scandals, and mentions that K stands for "kitanai" meaning filth.

Heiji wonders who he is and Kogoro knows that Ed McCay's famous in America. He's a reporter that whose speciality is exposing famous athletes' scandals. He manages to prove the athletes took illegal drugs, played fixed games, and had affairs in the past.

Later, the announcer asks the audience to submit any questions to the three athletes. Ran suddenly raises her hand to submit a question, but actually asks Ray Curtis to sign an autograph. The announcer is against it, but Ray says that it's okay and that he'going to sign it on one of his number 8 uniforms. Ran thanks Ray for accepting her request. When Ray asks her name, she actually asks to write 'Shinichi'. Conan blushes because Ran remembered that he was a fan of Ray Curtis.

Kazuha thinks it's weird that goalkeepers are supposed to be number 1 but Ray wears number 8. Conan says it's because Ray used to be a fielder, but during the World Cup, both the first string and back-up goalkeepers were injured, putting them in a pinch. They decided to make Ray the goalkeeper. His super-saves led them to victory. After that, when he entered the Sevilla League in Spain, he came on as a goalkeeper with the number 8. Of course, he wears it for his major league soccer team as well. Kazuha then asks what does number 99 mean the one Mike wears. Heiji answers that it stands for 99 mph, which is 160 km in Japan. It's the speed of Mike's pitch, so he requested that number. Lastly, Kazuha asks what does 4 mean which it says it on the boxing glove under Ricardo's signature. Kogoro answers that it's because Ricardo used to always win in "four" rounds, so he started putting it under his signature.

When Ran gets back with the autographed uniform for Shinichi, she also has the ticket to the exhibition match in Nagai that Ray will be playing in. She gave it to Conan. Outside, Ran uses the transceiver to communicate the three athletes to go to the hotel rooms above the restaurant to form a letter "K". When it's done, the gunshot occurs and the window breaks. Conan and Heiji go back inside and then upstairs. They find the dead body of Ed McCay.

When Otaki and the police arrive, they identify the victim as Ed McCay, a 48-year old reporter from Chicago. The cause of death is a gunshot wound to the chest. The weapon was a Smith & Wesson revolver. Judging from the blood stains, death wasn't instant. Heiji hears that the gunshot was heard at 8:05 pm. In the hotel making a "K", Ray was responsible for the 1st and 2nd floors, Mike was responsible for the 3rd and 4th floors, and Ricardo was responsible for the 5th floor. That means any of those three could have possibly committed the crime. Judging from the three athletes' past, they all have motives.

When Conan checks the corpse, he notices the victim is gripping his belt with his left hand. Also, the fingers of the right hand. The little finger and ring finger are curled in. It's the dying message from the victim. The keys to figuring this out are the three fingers on the right hand and the white bando in his left, "bando" refering to a leather belt in the west.

When the police checks all the people with gunpowder traces, they found nothing. They also checked the three athletes with light body check but their managers can't let the police treat them as suspects anymore. Of course, there's no gunpowder traces on them either. Those three weren't fond of the victim. He reported that Ricardo fought in fixed matches and was forced to retire. Next, he said that Ray got kicked out of European soccer for illegal drug abuse. Finally, he claimed Mike had an affair that lead to his divorce, but Mike's wife was Japanese and they're doing well. Conan is acting strangely as the three celebrities are suspects. Heiji wonders what's wrong with him.

Maki created her own alibi by asking Kanoko to pretend to be her and have Mouri, Ran, and Conan see her at the station. It is also revealed that the mysterious person that was watching Conan was Kanoko. Kanoko then returned and killed Maki because Maki had helped her get into the university illegally by asking her father to let her into the university.

Scenario: Ran, Mouri, and Conan go to Shirahama on a vacation they won from a shopping district lottery, and there meet a group of college students named Maki Shinjou, Tatsuhiko Yura, Madoka Mitsui, Kanako Miyahara, and Kouta Fuji. They are all in the same art club, but don't seem to get along well. During the time that Conan, Ran, and Mouri at near the souvenir shop Conan feels a mysterious person watching them and that mysterious person gets away on a bus heading to Shirahama where Madoka is drawing before Conan could catch up. When Madoka is drawing, she finds the body of one of her fellow students, Maki, stabbed in the heart. She immediately calls Fuji who is at Adventure World with Mouri, Ran, and Conan. Madoka tells the police that someone called Maki's phone as it started playing a Beethoven ringtone which made her check the bushes where she discovered Maki stabbed by a knife.

Because three out four suspects each has an airtight alibi during the time of the murder: Yura was at Shirahama, Kanaka was at Engetsuto, and Fuji was at Adventure World, the suspicion falls on Madoka who was the first discoverer.

Scenario: Mouri, Ran, and Conan are invited to a private party by a President of a financial business, who is known for his expensive collection and various tastes in wine. Three other guests attend and all of which have borrowed money from the president. He challenges one of the guests, a training sommelier to a tasting challenge that if he guesses all of the wines correctly he will forget his debt. As the sommelier guesses many of the wines correctly the president gets frustrated and goes to his wine cellar for a rare wine. They all realize that the president has taken too long and discover his dead body in the wine cellar which has been found locked. Fingerprints have been found on the door knob by two of the suspects yet Conan discovers the clues and in the end uses Mouri with the aid of Takagi and Chiba to reanact how the criminal killed the President. The culprit had called out the President to the backyard by knocking on the wine cellar window and had then killed him in the backyard. The criminal then used clothesline poles to lower the body into the wine cellar where the corpse's feet knocked down the wine bottles on the top shelf and had used his handkerchief to wipe the wine that got on the clothesline poles. The criminal confesses that they killed the president because he rose the interest on their debt and they couldn't pay because he had to pay his employees.

Toshiko looks into the wine cellar door and panics. Her husband is dead in the locked wine cellar.

Kogoro, Ran, and Conan are invited to a private party by a president of a financial business, Shohei Kusaka, who is known for his expensive collection and various tastes in wine. Three other guests have attended, Takeo Nonaka, Jyokichi Tonomura, and Yukari Takano; all of whom have borrowed money from the president. Kusaka challenges one of the guests, Tonomura, to a tasting challenge: if Tonomura guesses all of the wines correctly, Kusaka will forget his debt. As Tonomura guesses two of the wines correctly, the president gets frustrated and goes to his wine cellar for a rare wine. After taking a break, they all realize that the president has taken too long to return. Toshiko and Kogoro go to check on him, Conan following behind, and they discover his body in the wine cellar.

Conan takes notice of the victim's odd position on the floor. During the investigation, it is discovered that Shohei and his wife, Toshiko, are the only ones with the keys to the wine cellar, which was locked. In addition, the window could only be opened from the inside, and has a security alarm so it can't be forced open.

Based on what was found so far, the culprit should still be in the house. Fingerprints have been found on the door by two of the suspects, Jyokichi Tonomura and Yukari Takano. Nonaka went outside and never touched the door, and Toshiko was in the kitchen and couldn't leave without passing by Kogoro's group. Conan puts the pieces together, and uses Kogoro with the aid of Takagi and Chiba to reenact how the criminal killed the president.
